Panera: 1 Month Free Unlimited Coffee, MyPanera+ Subscription (First Month Free); Promo Code WWCoffee

Update 3/31/20: Looks like some people might get another 60 days for free. E-mails have been sent out with those with monthly fees due soon. Hat tip to reader Penny

In light of the changes we’re all making right now in our daily lives, we at Panera want to do our part to make it easier in any way that we can. That’s why, starting with auto-renewals scheduled for Thursday, March 26th, we’re waiving the subscription fees for MyPanera+ Coffee subscriptions for current subscribers for 60 days, and your card will not be charged. This means you will receive up to two free months of your coffee subscription.

You can still place an order and redeem your subscription as usual online, in the app, or in our Drive-Thrus, but for the next 60 days, it’s on the house.*

Your next monthly auto-renewal fee of $8.99 plus tax will be charged on 06/07/20. If you have any questions, please call 855-3-PANERA.

Our Verdict

Could be a nice savings for someone who buys their coffee daily from Starbucks, Dunkin, etc. Note, you need to take a two-hour break between buying coffees for it to be free with the subscription.

The subscription itself sounds like a nice savings for someone who buys a daily coffee too, especially for someone who buys more than one. I bet they aren’t trying to make money on the coffee, just on the additional items purchased alongside.

I got the email, but it doesn’t look like mine got extended. I wonder if it has to with anything that I turned off the auto-renewal right after I signed up for the free 1 month trial so it wouldn’t hit my card. Oh well, maybe next time. I try to be proactive but I guess that it doesn’t help me this time.

I canceled my auto-renewal after sign-up also. Mine got extended though. It may be related to when you signed up. If you signed up in the first couple days after the promo started, your first renewal may have been before 3/26, so your subscription ended too early to be eligible.

FYI, subscription may extend for 60 days.. I assume my free subscription falls under this as our auto-renewal is in April. Got this email:

I’d tell P2 but that free coffee would probably cost at least $45 in the form of “you pick 2s.”

Good deal. Though I bet their still making money from the coffee, depending on how involved (human) cashiers are.

You still order from a cashier?

More than half of all Panera locations have self-service kiosks now. Almost all locations support either mobile or online ordering.

Unless you’re paying with cash, there’s no reason to ever order through a cashier.
