Paypal/eBay Credit Card Removes Annual Cap & Extends Rewards Limit

The Paypal/eBay credit card offers 3x points on gas and restaurant, 2x on eBay and Paypal, and 1x everywhere else. They sent out an email today indicating a few changes they’ve made to the card:

1) Currently, the card has a limit of 50,000 points per year, but they’ve now eliminated that cap and made it unlimited earnings.

2) Rewards now expire 24 months after they are earned, instead of the previous 12 months.

3) In the email of many cardholders it stated that a new look is coming to the card (see picture below). My email did not have the part about the new look.

I mainly use the card for the spend promotions they send out regularly, it isn’t too useful otherwise. Even the 3x gas and restaurants isn’t really worth 3% back since their redemptions come out (typically) to just .83 cents per point.

It’s also worth noting that Paypal is slowly rolling out a new version of the Extras Mastercard which earns a flat 2% back everywhere.

Awesome.
From the post “Even the 3x gas and restaurants isn’t really worth 3% back since their redemptions come out (typically) to just .83 cents per point.”
Your comment clarifies the card better somehow. Would you detail a little more on the money order with the PPD backed by this card? Thanks in advance.

I triple the motion, please delete this TMI post; this kind of info is dangerous to those who don’t know what they’re doing. It will not just hurt you but the whole MS community.

Whether the 3X points for PPDMC backfunding purchases work on the PPEMC or not, we kindly ask you to delete your post please.

I thought the 3X points was on Gas and Restaurants only.

If the PPDMC backup funding purchase earns 3X points as well then I should have applied for the Paypal Extras Mastercard instead of the 2% Paypal Cashback Mastercard.

This came at the right time, I was about to reach the cap and have stopped using it. I like their featured rewards monthly for 1:1 GC redemption.

They haven’t screwed me over yet so I have no beef with them. I never looked closely at this card, maybe it’s time to do that.

I’ll be so glad the day that Paypal / Ebay non-compete expires and Ebay creates their own payment system and I’ll be done with paypal so fast. I will close out my paypal account that same day.
