American Express are currently offering increased sign up bonuses on their SPG personal & business cards with the following minimum spend requirements:
- American Express SPG Personal Card Offers Now 35,000 Points
- 25,000 points after $3,000 spend within the first three emonths
- Additional 10,000 points with an additional $2,000 spend within the first six months
- American Express SPG Business Card Offers Now 35,000 Points
- 25,000 points after $5,000 spend within the first three emonths
- Additional 10,000 points with an additional $3,000 spend within the first six months
Reddit user swaiuo says that they had two friends sign up using a referral link, they applied through the 35,000 point link but after applying the offer that they signed up for it showed them as having signed up for the following offer:
- 25,000 points after first purchase
- An additional 10,000 points after an additional $2,000 spend within the first six months
They claim that they even called in to check and that was the offer attached to the account. My suspicious is that people are just lying about this in the hopes of getting people to sign up for their specific referral link. I can’t check this myself as I’m not eligible for either card. If somebody has signed up using a referral link (they can be found here) and has/hasn’t seen what I’m talking about then let us know in the comments below.
