Priority Pass Adds Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at SFO

The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at SFO will be available to Priority Pass customers starting December 16th, 2019. The lounge is located in the international terminal in Concourse A (level 5). It’s open from 6AM until 12:15PM daily. Given they do limited operating houses I assume that Virgin Atlantic is allowing Priority Pass customers to use the lounge when they don’t have any flights utilizing the lounge (Virgin Atlantic flights are at 5PM and 9:25PM so this makes sense).

Just more choices at the International Terminal when what is needed are locations in the American/Alaska gates. Just like the Centurion Club you have to exit security and reenter for any other gates!

Has anyone gotten into the AF/KLM lounge when not flying out of International A? There doesn’t appear to be any such limitation listed by PP. I’ve used that lounge only a couple of times when flying HA or B6, both of which use Intl A.

Yes. That’s possible. I showed my southwest domestic boarding pass (departing from T2) to TSA agents in T-A and tell them I want to use the AF lounge. They let me in without any issue.

That AF lounge has like a dozen different low end Bordeaux wines you can pour yourself.

I have been in the Air France lounge and it was worse than most domestic PP.

If the other VA Clubhouses are any indication, the PP menu will be something like mac n cheese + celery sticks + canned fruit. Yay.

They have a special stripped down menu for PP members?? Once you are in, do they really know who is a normal member and who is a PP member?

Ah i see, nevermind. Just researched what the clubouse is like at other locations with PP. the specific PP hours have completely different food/drink items. Well…..what a let down…

Yea that was my experience at the one at EWR, though champagne and other drinks were still available. Shower was also accessible in those hours

Finally an actual lounge in SFO. The restaurants are nice, but I don’t always want to eat.

Edit: Well doh. I didn’t see this is in Concourse A, same place as the KLM lounge… So still no lounge options for the rest of the airport.

Per PP, international flights only. They really need something in T1 or T2, so you wouldn’t have to clear security twice if using the PP lounges in T3 or International.

Prediction: They’ll add the Alaska lounge when it’s finally done, but the no PP due to overcrowding sign will be posted almost immediately and will stay up nearly all the time.

There are no lounges in T3. Those are restaurants.

The only lounge so far is the KLM lounge in Intl Concourse A flights only.

Sorry, shold’ve been clearer. I was using “lounge” as shorthand for all the PP options at SFO. The Giants Clubhouse isn’t bad, and they were willing to charge $0.01 on a credit card so I could leave a tip. Never been to Yankee Pier, as the line is usually longer than I’m willing to bear.

us amex cardholders lost access to the restaurants =(. I preferred the clubhouse and yankee pier over the lounges.

Well said, @ithrowpoop! Glad to see others combine a bit of comedy with substance in their comments. While DoC has some seriously good info, it’s always nice to get a chuckle in while scrolling. *wink*

I only ever fly through SFO for international flights, so this suits me.

I just wished that arriving flights would be eligible as well.

Seriously: PP is so devalued in USA. Overseas it’s phenomenal. Any time I attempt Wingtips at T4 JFK it’s an automatic “nope” … and I’ll wait it out, insist, and when I finally get in: half empty. Just cheap.
