Our Verdict

These promos are getting better and better, last month it was for a $15 rebate and now it’s up to $25! The $200 cards have a purchase fee of $6.95 so you net $18.05 plus any credit card rewards and minus any unloading fees. BB&B codes as home furnishings so you’ll struggle to get a category bonus on this purchase.

You can file these rebates online now as well, so that’s certainly a positive. I’d recommend doing two separate purchases and filing out the rebate form twice, rather than a single purchase of two cards. But people have had success with both.

What’s the best way to unload VGC nowadays?

Mark O

Money order

Except that I just tried that at USPS and it didn’t work, so I called the gift card support number and they said these cards don’t allow for purchases of money orders, lottery tickets, etc. I’ll try at a Ralphs, but I fear the same result…

But it does work at Walmart!

as mentioned above, card outright declined for MO at USPS. one Walmart where MOs were no bother told me they changed policies and no longer accepting VGC for MO.

This is, however, not in their system and depends on the cashier – seems up to cashier.

Rebates r getting better and better while stocks of vgcs at BBB are getting worse/gone 🙂

Geez, they really must not be selling the stock of cards at these stores… not surprising I suppose *laughs* Hopefully black friday bozos don’t clean these off right away.

any cards give bonus points for BB&B?

If you have the 5 back VGC (purchased from OfficeDepot during the last VGC sale) or can get it from other locations selling VGC, then you can get 5% back on that – its not a credit card, but a prepaid debit card just like the one you will be buying with it….so a 5% back roll.

YMMV, that trick worked in one store in my area but failed at another store.

hot tip: Nov 25th is Black Friday. Wait until the 27th or 28th to avoid (some of) the crowds

Thanks for the “hot tip” Bob. Something tells me these will be out of stock after Black Friday.

I suggest buying the cards in different transactions. I did it in one and submitted two rebates online as instructed. I then received an email stating one was invalid because it was a duplicate. I figured that was because the receipt was the same. The contact email was invalid and the phone number did not allow access to a live agent. Finally, via chat, I was told that my $30 card was already being processed and that I did not need to submit twice since they were bought in one transaction. However, I wouldn’t count on doing that since it’s not per the t&c.
Overall, annoying. Better to do two transactions.

This is an early head-up! Idiots can’t accuse you of “hoarding” up the deal! 🙂

Any chance of using a BBB GC to buy the Visa GC?

James

Not all BB&B carry visa gift cards so you should probably call before making the drive.

Wish I had read this before going out. Three BBB in my area; one only carries up to $100 Visa GC so I called the other two and they don’t carry them at all. I ended up stopping by Office Depot on the way home and doing their GC deal again using Ink+.

Here in Hoo’ville, VA, our BBY last time didn’t carry them either. Now, they have the $200 M/C and $50 Visa — but no $200 visas (yet)…. Mentioned this to the local reps who checked with managers — who seemed unaware of this promotion…

Does anybody know what bank issues these $200 Visa GC ? Is it Metabank?

Abe

YMMV. It worked for me.

Sunrise VGC also did not work at Kmart. I’ve always had success with Metabank VGC at Kmart however.

Sunrise also doesn’t work at USPS.

These cards worked for me at Walmart supercenter as well.

is this in-store only or online as well?

Are you getting just a visa prepaid card or branded bed bath and beyond card?
Description makes it unclear to realize which one you are getting.

With the last promo you had a choice. I’d always choose the vgc myself.
