- Bet You Didn’t Know: Last Chance To Transfer Points Between Bank of America and Fidelity by Frequent Miler. You have until July 22nd to make the switch.
- Uber switches out surge for price transparency by TechCrunch. I like the idea of knowing the exact fare before riding, but I still wish it was possible to have this and also know when you’re being charged surge. Especially when I’m in a new location I’d have no idea if I was being charged a premium if just the price is displayed. There are times where I’d rather just wait than pay that premium, but unfortunately with this new fixed pricing scheme I wouldn’t know that unless I was familiar with rates.
- New $2000 Lyft Driver Bonus – San Diego by The Rewards Boss. Not as big as the $5,000 bonus for LA drivers, but still pretty big.
- SPG and Aegean have upgraded their partnership to now let members use miles to book SPG hotels in Greece. They have also given many coupons to Aegean Gold members! by Running With Miles. The rooms look expensive if you book with Aegean miles, so not a whole lot of value to be found here from my quick glance.
The Worldpoints transfer item was extremely helpful. I had 1400 points in an old BoA account that I haven’t used for years that I was able to send to my Fidelity account. That was too few points for any actual rewards but now I can turn it into cash!
I’m sorry. $5,000 to drive 1,000 lyft passengers is not a beer money situation. That’s just a job board posting.
The new system will still tell you when surge is in effect, just not what the multiplier is. You get a message that says something like, “due to increased demand, prices are higher than normal”.
