I just hope they’re not donating the “food” they have on board …

As someone that works in food production, none of the food donations are 100% altruistic. Every company donating is getting tax write-offs and a bunch of goodwill to go along with all their headlines. If they didn’t get rid of this food, it too would end up in the landfill or spoil.

Sure it’s nice, but not 100% charity.

What “donations” are 100% altruistic when the tax system incentivizes donations with tax deductions?

American Airlines only has less than half of the food delta donated? Does this mean they don’t stock up as much food? What cheapskates. Lol

Meanwhile, food that is not going to restaurants, theme parks, and the travel industry rots in the field

What about mortgage forbearance? Is interest charged on missed payments?

My understanding is that the payment date for those payments is just pushed back a few months. Interest will still accrue. Technically the payments are “past due” but since forbearance has been agreed, the lender won’t push your credit score for it.

Not interest on the original loan amount but interest on the missed payments. I am saying there is no downside to taking forbearance. Take it and keep aside the payments to make them whenever your service tells you to.

Another mortgage officer told me that while the credit score won’t be hit the missing months in the payment stream on the credit report will be held against you by other servicers in the future, not sure how or why but that was her point. Especially since the government is not bailing out the servicers.

https://www.quickenloans.com/learn/mortgage-forbearance says “interest on your balance will continue to accrue even when you aren’t making payments and will be added to your balance at the end of your forbearance period. This will increase the total amount you end up paying”.

That sounds like there is a downside.
