Florida offered to host the Olympics. We are ready, willing, open, and able.
It’s like the pandemic never happened here.. *cough*
But then they have to go to Florida. Hard pass. Its Florida.
It would bring great honor if Olympics were to occur in Japan after all, even if delayed.
(Japanese resident typing this from Japan.)
Opinion after opinion poll have showed that a majority of the general Japanese public don’t want the Olympics to happen. The majority wants it to be delayed again (if possible) or outright canceled if a second delay is not possible. Few here actually expect the Olympics to happen at all (spectators or no spectators).
Selfishly, it would be nice if it were possible. I live within a short walking distance of one of the cycling events (the 51k outdoor cycling road race). It would be cool to walk down to the cycling route and see the cyclists go by. We (locals in my area) have been looking forward to the cycling event for years. How often do you get to take a short walk from your home to the Olympics? I’ve driven/ridden/walked/ran on that section of the route so often. It would be cool to see it used as an Olympic route. And the local government spent so much time re-paving the road for the event (which is nice because it DEFINITELY needed to be re-paved, lol). But I cannot imagine it actually happening.
Super excited to see which Olympic athletes get disqualified after secretly hugging each other in bars in between events.
Looking forward to the new opening in Culver City.
