Reminder: Today Is Small Business Saturday, 3x $10 Statement Credits On Enrolled AmEx Cards

I’m sure you haven’t forgotten, but here is your friendly reminder that today is Small Business Saturday. This a promotion that is now run annually by American Express to draw attention to small businesses that accept American Express. In the past American Express has been seen as having a poor acceptance rate (mostly due to them charging higher fees for merchants). Small Business Saturday is one way AmEx has been increasing their acceptance rate, building goodwill with their cardholders and also drumming up business for smaller merchants all at once. It’s a win-win-win situation.

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Spend $10 or more at a participating small business with an American Express card that is enrolled in the promo and you’ll receive a $10 statement credit. There is a limit of three statement credits per enrolled card. You can find eligible small businesses by clicking here.

It’s not too late to enroll your cards if you haven’t already. I’m not going to drum on about how good this offer is, this horse has been well and truly flogged this year. Enjoy Small Business Saturday and remember that most local businesses will happily sell your a gift card or certificate for $10 if you ask nicely and explain what you’re doing, they’ll also do split tenders so you can break larger purchases up into $10 chunks.

I usually try to shop at a mixture of local businesses that I love and local businesses that I’ve never tried. This year I’m out of the country so I’m missing out.
