[Confirmed] Emirates To Launch A Co-Branded Credit Card In 2020 (Barclays Issuer)

Update 2/13/20: This has now been confirmed in Barclays Q4 earnings report.

Update 12/30/19: Looks like Barclays will be the issuer

Original post: According to a source familiar with the matter Emirates will launch a co-branded credit card in 2020. Unfortunately at this stage we don’t know the specifics of the card (e.g benefits or sign up bonus) but it’s interesting to see another airline cobranded card entering the market. We will share more information when it comes to hand.

I am hoping they’ll let me PC from Aviator Silver or JetBlue plus if the new card is worth it.

No SUB for product changes. I do not think the benefits would be worth it for most of us. YMMV though.

I’d rather have an Etihad credit card. Their award chart is a lot more reasonable and attainable and Etihads “Apartment” are better than anything that Emirates provides

So this will be addition to the Marriott card they are involved in?

Hopefully it’s a better source than the Amex Green person that said that card would have an Amazon Prime benefit.

My guess is AMEX..which would be nice…but their award chart for flights from North America are outrageous no doubt. Always good to have a method of acquiring miles though for us here.

It’s impossible since Amex has contract with Delta, and Delta hates gulf carriers very much.

As it’s Emirates, don’t expect anything fantastic deals.

+1. skywards is a lackluster program. Maybe they will overhaul it so points are not expiring so quickly

More recently every rewards program had more negative changes than positive ones. idk if they have any more worst ideas to spoil what little this program has.
