- Clip the coupon for $10 instant discount when you purchase $100 or more in Visa Gift Cards.
The Safeway deals are usually at Von’s, Albertson’s, Randall’s, Tom Thumb, Acme, Shaw’s, and Jewel too.
The Fine Print
- Limit 1 per household
- Expires 6/8/19
- Visa gift card is issued by MetaBank
Our Verdict
Fairly regular deal, and a nice way to rack up some grocery store spend. Remember to save the coupon first; also, use a card that earns at a high rate on grocery store purchases (including the Chase Freedom this quarter). In the past, you typically did not get fuel points on Visa/MC gift cards or might not. In the past, the coupon has not worked on variable load cards.

Variable didn’t work at acme (PA), didn’t realize until I left so I’ll go back for a manual adjustment tomorrow.
$10 j4u coupon can’t be added to reward account today as expected – one week before the expiration date of such promotion…6/8-7=6/1 is the last day of being able to add it to the account.
For those that aren’t able to apply the discount, your cashier needs to proceed to press the checkout button of some sort. They recently updated the systems and some of the employees are still stuck with the old system. The coupon gets applied in the final screen before you pay.
Didn’t work on variable for me.
It must be based on the store/region. Seems like Acme is a no go. Worked fine for me today at a CA Safeway.
3 accounts 3 x $10 discount on $500 vgc… I love this promotion…. if i didn’t have summer vacation I’d open up 2 more accounts with my work email…
I think I got unlucky. Was told that my Safeway is cash only for the variable load, so I ended up with a smaller fixed amount.
Later found it it was one of the managers that happened to be checking me out, so if I had gone back later / to a different cashier, I might have been able to do the variable load one.
a store, where all the past promo i was able to buy more than 1 in different trxn, just now no longer lets customer buy GCs in separate trx, 1 or all at the same time; its reason is loss prevention from the corp.

I bought 2 with different member numbers and got $10 off each $500 variable Visa gift card. I had to get the assistant manager to verify my credit card and ID matched and wouldn’t let me buy any more than 2… I may open up a 3rd remarkable card account to get another $10 off.. at a different location. excellent promotion here.
