Our Verdict
Samsung Pay usually passes the merchant data back successfully, so it should be possible to use the GrubHub deal and still use American Express gold credit.

It seems to have been reduced to 10%/1%. I don’t think that this was a “devaluation” but a correction of a mistake. Ibotta has the same 10%/1% offer, so I’m guessing that someone at Samsung/Grubhub got enthusiastic and posted it as 10%/5% then rectified it.
I don’t see Grubhub CB offer in my samsung pay app. So YMMV I guess.
Till last week I’ve used iBotta which had 2.5% cashback and now they have reduced to 1%.. 🙂
I downloaded the Groupon app and it is not giving me the option to pay with Samsung Pay. Will I get the reward just for accessing Groupon through the Samsung Pay offer? If so, is it required I use the card linked to my Samsung Pay account?
You’d just need to click on/through the link found in the Samsung Pay app. It’s like using a Cash Back website. You don’t have to pay with Samsung Pay.
