Shopathome Offers 11% Sears, 34% Off Sears Gift Cards with Portal/Discover/eAward – That’s Before the Double-Dip

Shopathome is currently offering 11% cashback on Sears.com purchases. (HT: Victor) Update: The 11% offer was short-lived (only a few hours, perhaps), the rate is now showing as 8%.

We reported on a great offer going on at Sears until 12/25/15. With each $100 gift card purchased from Sears, you’ll get a $20 bonus eAward card. And it appears that it can be repeated for each $100 Sears gift card purchased.

This times awesomely with Discover’s Q4 5% quarterly category which includes Sears.com. (Only e-gift cards and reloads will work to trigger the 5% bonus since physical gift cards are processed by Kmart. Physical gift cards will get the Sears portal cashback since the purchase is made on sears.com.)

What’s even better is that many shopping portals pay out for the purchase of Sears gift cards, more details on this in the previous post. Shopathome does not exclude gift cards and in my experience with both physical gift cards and e-gift cards, the cashback does come through automatically.

 The Haul

Buy Sears e-gift cards which should trigger the eAward, the portal, and the Discover 5% cashback.

  • $120 Sears credit for $100
  • $11 back from Shopathome
  • $10 back from Discover for those who will have their cashback doubled
  • Total: $79 paid for $120 in Sears credit

That’s around a 34% discount there! And that’s before double-dipping by going through a portal when you purchase the actual product. For example, you can go through the Splender portal and get an additional 7% back. Or you can risk going through the Shopathome portal again and hope to get another 11% back, although gift card redemptions are excluded from the terms (I have no personal experience with that).

One note of caution: You may be limited to using just one eAward card per transaction.

I got my eAward today and like Spgbus it was combined. It also said that it won’t expire which is contrary to what is written on the website when I originally purchased. Looks like for all practical purposes, this is a gift card.

Anyone know what the max number is for gift cards used in a single transaction?

The offer is back online again as of 3:00 PM EST. And I received one $40 eAward Card today for two eGC purchases on 6th and 7th.

Just went to purchase a few more of the gift cards and noticed the offer seems to be have been pulled from the website. I was pacing my orders, I guess that was a mistake.

I got a SYWR offer of spend $30, get $30 points. Have to see if we can double dip it. Small time, but for those not looking to tie up $200, May be just right.

Received the $5 but only 8%; should have taken a screenshot of the 11%. I have not received the $20 eAward yet, but just placed order today.

For those without Discover, there is a BankAmeriDeals for 10% back at Sears as well if you use your debit card.

how long does it take the BankAmerideals to show up in your account as confirmed?

I’ve done $100 two times in the last week, and no indication from BofA yet. I activated the deal prior to spending, and I used the correct credit card. Don’t know how long the delay is supposed to be.
