Simon Mall: Save on Gift Cards for Lowe’s, Gamestop & iTunes [5/29-6/11]

The Offer

Simon Mall is running a few gift card deals starting next week:

  • Buy $150 in Lowe’s gift cards and get a free $20 5-Back Visa gift card
  • Buy $50 in Gamestop gift cards and get a free $10 Visa gift card
  • Buy $150 in iTunes gift cards and get a free $20 Visa Amex gift card (valid 5/15-5/28)

The Fine Print

  • Valid 5/29/17 – 6/11/17
  • Limit one Visa gift card per transaction

Our Verdict

The Lowe’s and iTunes are just over 13% discount if you value the Visa card like cash, and the Gamestop is 20% discounted. All three are excellent deals, and the Lowe’s will be particularly interesting for someone with home improvements to do.

If you want to buy many of these, sounds like it’ll have to be multiple $10/$20 cards so there is considerable hassle in dealing with those. Keep that in mind.

There is no fee on the 5-back, correct?

Is there a limit on the number of transactions? Or YMMV?

My experience with these is YMMV, depends on rep, mall, who is “financing” the promo and how profitable is the deal.

Any particular credit card to use to get max points/cash back?

Ok, so, the local Simon Premier Outlet pulled the Lowe’s promo early. As in, buy the Lowe’s required value card(s) by 5pm EDT TODAY or else.

Other promos still good. Lowe’s deal was just popular.

If still interested. maybe a phone call could save an unnecessary trip.

BTW, you will be prompted to contribute to Simon Foundation at time of transaction.

I went in today and the inquired about the Lowes deal. The guy sold me one and I asked about doing it again since it is “one per transaction”. His boss says the deal has been pulled and he shouldn’t have sold me one in the first place. So, Lowes might be dead now.
