SiriusXM: Free 3 Month Membership For New & Previous Customers

The Offer

Direct link to offer (our affiliate link)

  • Amazon is offering three months of SiriusXM subscription for new users (also working for those who used to be members but are not currently).

The Fine Print

  • Activate an All Access subscription and pay $0 for your first three months, a $62.97 savings off the current monthly rate of $20.99, or activate a Premier Streaming subscription and pay $0 for your first three months, a $47.97 savings off the current monthly rate of $15.99.
  • A credit card is required on this offer.
  • Your service will automatically renew monthly thereafter and, at the beginning of your fourth month, you will be charged at then-current rates.
  • Fees and taxes apply.
  • Please see our Customer Agreement for complete terms and how to cancel, which includes calling us at 1-866-635-2349.
  • All fees and programming are subject to change.
  • This offer cannot be combined with any other.
  • This offer may be modified or terminated at any time. New SiriusXM subscribers only

Our Verdict

There are two subscriptions you can choose between, all screen ($20.99 per month) or Premier streaming ($15.99 per month). This free trial automatically enrolls you in a membership so you need to cancel before the three months is up otherwise you will be charged those monthly fees. Previously we’ve seen a two month trial and also a money maker on a six month membership so this is somewhere in between.

What if one uses a credit card that is a virtual number, for example like the ones that CapitalOne offers. Then, after a couple of days, delete the number at CapOne. Would one have to cancel the service since I used a virtual number that is no longer valid?

In my old car every time I would call to cancel they would offer me the same deal again of $5/month. I would renew for 6 months at a time for probably 5-6 years… I don’t have much of a use for it anymore since my commute is shorter and few road trips but free is free.

They are very willing to work out a deal for you, when you called to cancel you basically just keep saying no till they give you the price you want. It costs them next to nothing to authorize your radio so their strategy/thought is that they might as well get any amount of revenue from you, even if it’s far less than the “sticker” price. I wish more companies had this philosophy!

Not looking forward to cancelling this in 3 months, but I’ll enjoy it until then. Thanks!

If you have a new vehicle trial, the 3 months starts at the end of the trial!

Most people are probably aware but canceling a SiriusXM subscription can be quite a hassle. That said, I’ve been a subscriber for about 6 years as I had a long commute and end up going through the process of calling every 6 or 12 months to “cancel” and negotiate a lower price.

As noted above, to cancel you have to phone in…you can’t cancel online.

I’ve always found them pretty easy to deal with and the price negotiation only ever takes about 5 minutes. They’ve usually been willing to give me whatever price is offered online at the moment for returning subscribers. When I actually cancelled from my last car (didn’t want to have to remember to call in again on the trial), they only tried to offer a retention discount once before accepting defeat and closing the account.

The “customer agreement” to this offer mentions that if you live in certain states, you are able to cancel online. But I cannot find any mention of which states those are. If anyone knows where to find the answer, please feel free to chime in. Thanks. From the terms of the agreement:

“A. HOW TO CANCEL:
1. You may cancel your Subscription at any time though this Agreement will remain legally binding
if you do not do so within seven (7) days of the start of your Subscription. You must call us to
cancel your Subscription. If you purchased your Subscription online, and you are a resident of
certain states, and in certain other circumstances, you may cancel online.”

There’s a SiriusXM deal available through Swagbucks (I’m not sure if it’s exclusive to them, though) where you pay $49.99 up front for the first six months before it reverts to the regular price, plus you get $10 back in SB and a free Echo Dot.

If you keep this for a full year, it ends up costing $13 less than keeping the above deal for the same period of time. (But an early termination fee does apply if you cancel in the first six months on this one.)

Did you ever have XM Radio–Sirius in your car? If you have it, then it has the capabilities. I have a special button that says XM Radio that I press.
