Our Verdict

I like to post the Southwest sales as the award tickets are tied to the cash value of each ticketsame is also true for JetBlue. If you’re new to Alaska you can also get 5,000 miles for joining when you complete your first flight. There is also a 40,000 point offer currently available on the JetBlue card.

Dude if you take a carry on it’s already $60, same as SW. Except you get sh**y service and sit next to trash.
Why don’t people get this

Judah, were you actually able to book any seats on SW for $59? There were no offers that cheap from Philly. The lowest offer in the sale is $88 to West Palm Beach but even looking at their monthly calendar, there were none at that price for the next 3 months.
Perhaps they do exist if you search long and hard but for the dates we need, SWA would cost us $1260 and Frontier was $331. How am I “not getting it”? Would you pay more than quadruple? As long as they get us there safely and don’t lose our bags, I’m good to go.
The price difference covers half the cost of club level at the Grand Floridian. They’ll more than make up for the crappy flight service. 🙂

Tom, We did pay in advance $25 each way for 1 checked bag. It’s only a 3 nt getaway (kids can’t miss much school) so we can cram in 1 bag and backpack under seat for anything else that doesn’t fit. Even with luggage and needing to join their silly Discount Den club fee of $49.99 our grand total comes to $331 for a family of 4.

It figures though, the same flights are now $38 without having to join their club. Oh well, it’s a gamble.
Same dates (very off-peak for theme parks: Mon-Thurs in Sept) non stop with SWA is almost $315 pp. Usually I’m a huge SWA fan; have had their cc 11+ years.

I love SW but they are not even close to the $29 flights we got on Frontier, non stop, Philly to Orlando.
I can’t even fill my gas tank for $29…
