Southwest Now Shows The Expiry Date For Travel Funds

Southwest has made an improvement and now shows when specific travel funds are expiring. It looks like this change only works on tickets that were recently cancelled (December 3rd or later). This makes it much easier and means you don’t need to track this yourself any longer.

Just a FYI: Southwest opened up their schedule today (12/11) @ ~8AM Central for summer flights.

Now they just need a way for us to find ALL travel funds by our name/RR #. You still have to keep track of each #.

Exactly! I don’t know why they don’t display available travel funds. Nice change though, is that now they refund the travel funds more often than not.

A very welcomed addition!

I’m tired of having to snooze my Gmail cancellations until I have upcoming travel. Very nice to see them place this right above the “My Rapid Rewards” section too and not buried at the bottom of a page or in a separate tab.

Also, I agree with Jeff’s statement regarding 12/3 cutoff date and here’s what the page says when you have no post-12/2 travel funds regardless of whether you have travel funds from prior like I do:

No Travel Funds Found

Funds displayed on this page include funds from cancelled tickets which included your Rapid Rewards number and cancelled in accordance with the No Show Policy, or tickets with a valid residual balance canceled on or after December 3. To view additional travel funds not displayed use Travel Fund Lookup.”

Note they provide the normal link to lookup those pre-12/3 travel funds.

Why not add a label to them in Gmail. Easy to find by label later. If you label the original booking confirmation instead of the cancellation, it’ll even track the dates for you (email date + 1 yr — if you use and cancel again, keep the original)

Thanks for the info. FAQ’s on the website says it won’t display funds from tickets prior to December 3, 2019.
