[Expired] Spent Now Offering 3% Cashback On Gas [No End Date]

Spent is no longer offering 3% cash back on gas. Dosh is now offering 3% back, but only on Exxon Mobil.

Card linked rewards program Spent offered 3% cash back on gas over the weekend. Spent has now announced that this has been added with no end date. Members will now get 3% cash back on gas purchases at the following locations when using a card linked with Spent:

  • Shell
  • BP
  • ChevronTexaco
  • Exxon Mobil
  • 76 Gas
  • Valero
  • Costco Fuel

If you’re not familiar with Spent, I’d recommend reading our full review here. Also make sure to link a credit card that earns at a high rate on all gas purchases.

Hey Doc,

I can confirm that Drop and Spent are stackable. I went to Walgreens on Friday, Sept 21 to buy a birthday card and Subway gift card (charged to Freedom for 5x) for a total of $34.68. I received 173.4 UR, 277 Drop points, $.35 from Spent and some Wellness points.

It seems Spent and Drop award points for gift cards… I think their combined cash back outweighs the Visa Gift card activation fee.

Please notice me Doc, please elevate me to the status of DP. haha

They seem to be having a lot of IT issues. I have using their app for 4 months now and noticed that many times it will stop tracking transactions on a card and then reconnect a week later and for that 1 week I will lose all the cashback. It has happened 3 time intermittently.

Also, noticed the Gas discount is only 2% and not 3% as specified.

Customer Service is quite inept and not been able to resolve. any issues successfully though I have not lost much.

I signed up two weeks ago and I’m showing a negative $37 balance today. Not sure why

This was their response to me.

“Hello,
As you might have noticed we are undergoing an issue where credit card payments appear as negative transactions therefore deduct cashback from your account,

We are on the process of reissuing this cashback to you.

We will update you as soon as there is further update.

Thank you for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards,

SPENT Team.”

3% at Costco Fuel is great if it works. So far only my Shell purchases tracked. I had Costco in-store and Whole Foods and no sign of tracking these.

I want to link my cash back CREDIT CARD, but the app is requesting that I add my BANK ACCOUNT info before it will do anything. What the heck! Is there any way around this blunder??

Do I have to link to my bank to activate this offer? Or only having linked credit card?

Damn. I’m missing out on all the cashback due to these frequent Giant GC deals as my bill is frequently $0.00

Do I have to link my bank to activate this offer? They keep asking me to do so…

I love it. This 3% plus the 3% on my BCP. Buying at BP also adds United miles to the mix.

Does Spent work for anyone? It errors when logging in for me and then tells me the reset link expired when trying to reset my password.

The only issue I had was adding my Barclay & US Bank cards. I had to select add card, then at the bottom choose to skip to login and then add the card number. If I tried with the card number first it would say it could not connect.
