Stacking Hilton Promotions: 52x Per $1 & 5,000 Points Or $70 Discount

Current Hilton Promotions

Currently there are a number of Hilton promotions that you can stack for a big discount and points earning opportunity.

Keep in mind in addition to this 30x base earning you’ll also either receive 5x points if you select points & points earning or airline miles/other travel rewards.

You could also go through a shopping portal and get 20x base points (because you won’t be able to book through the app) plus 6% cash back or 2x American Airline miles + stack with this bonus. Thanks to reader Stephen.

Elite Earning

You earn extra miles based on your elite status as follows:

  • 1.5x for Silver
  • 2.5x for Gold
  • 5x for Diamond

Payment Network

Then you’ll want to choose one of the following credit card promotions to use:

Somebody suggest splitting the payment as well, for example putting $25 on a Visa card and then $250 onto an American Express card to get $50 back and 5,000 points. Thanks to the readers in the comments for this suggestion.

Credit Card

Keep in mind that you’ll also earn credit card rewards, best card to use would be:

  • Citi Reserve for Visa promotion (10x points per $1 spent)
  • American Express Surpass for American Express promotion (12x points per $1 spent)

Final Totals

Basically this is what you’re earning will look like:

  • 30x points for booking through the app
  • 5x points for selecting points & points
  • Up to 5x for elite status
  • 5,000 bonus points/$50/$70 discount depending on what payment network bonus you use
  • Up to 12x points per $1 spent depending on what credit card you use

This works out to be 52x points per $1 spent, plus 5,000 bonus points per stay or a discount up to $70. But wait, there’s more! They also have another three targeted promotions:

Can you stack this further? Let us know in the comments below.

Hat tip to VFTW for the original stack.

I recently had a three night stay at the Hilton Anaheim and I would like to show the breakdown of cost and points received via my stay.

Hotel Rate: $109.65 per night x 3 nights = $328.95
Parking: $16 x 3 days = $48
Taxes: $61.20 (Not Counted Towards Point Accrual)
Total: $438.15 – $50 (Amex Offer – Spend $250 Get $50 Back) = $388.15

I put $250 on my Platinum and the remaining $188.15 on my CSP in order to take advantage of the bonus 5,000 Hilton Points per stay when paying with Visa.

Points Earned:
Ultimate Rewards: 188.15 X 2 = 376.3 (Worth $.021 or $7.90)
Membership Rewards: 250 (Worth $.019 or $4.75)
HHonors Base Points: 376.95 (Hotel + Parking) X 10 = 3769 (Hilton Rounds Down)
HHonors Double Points Offer: 376.95 (Hotel + Parking) X 10 = 3769 (Hilton Rounds Down)
HHonors Mobile App Offer: 376.95 (Hotel + Parking) X 10 = 3769 (Hilton Rounds Down)
HHonors 50% Bonus on Base Points: 3769.95 / 2 = 1884 (Hilton Rounds Down)
HHonors Diamond VIP Bonus – 50%: 3769.95 / 2 = 1884 (Hilton Rounds Down)
Diamond MYWAY Bonus: 1000
HHonors Pay with Visa Bonus: 5000

Total HHonors Points Earned: 21075 (Worth $.005 or $105.375)

For this 3-night stay, I essentially paid $438.15 – $50 – 105.375 – $4.75 – $7.90 = $270.13. However, this does not include the six breakfast vouchers I received during this stay. Which, could be used at the hotel Starbucks (free grande and free pastry of choice) OR at the hotel restaurant for daily continental breakfast. I chose to use the vouchers at Starbucks for a much better value. You could easily estimate these six vouchers worth about $50, which makes the total price of the hotel ~$220.13. Oh by the way, I used autoslash to rent a car from Budget for 4 days and the total cost was $56.19 + $17 in gas out the door.

A great trip and less stress on my wallet. I love the points game!

Is the 5000 points with Visa only once or multiple use? I ask because of multiple upcoming stays.

According to TheGate:

http://thegate.boardingarea.com/hilton-hhonors-visa-promotion-2016-answers-to-questions-from-readers/

… you can do it multiple times. He does leave open the possibility that Corporate Rates might not qualify (would kill it for me).

For the amex offer, are tax and fees included in the $250 amount?

Did you find an answer to your question? Can anyone else confirm if taxes/fees are included the $250 threshold?

So, for some reason I’m not eligible for ANY of the bonus point options at the bottom of the article. It gives me a message at the top to call them to add it, but they can’t find the promotions anywhere online. I read the URL to the lady that answered the phone and she said it’s a scam, which I don’t believe. That said, I got 10k points for reporting the “scam” website!

Whatever works I guess…

Well, as others have pointed out in a different thread, the VISA offer doesn’t have a minimum spend. So lets say you had a stay that cost $275 all in. You put $25 on your VISA. Get 5,000 points for that. Then you put $250 on an Amex with the Hilton $50 off $250 offer. Obviously YMMV depending on the rate, and of course this will only work at an actual Hilton not a Hampton or other sub-brand.

Another way to stack would be to go through a portal for 4-6% cashback. It’d mean you’d miss out on the bonus for booking through the app, but I think they’re running a double points promo at the moment so you’d still get 20 base points per $ rather than 30.

Otherwise, you could book through the American Airlines portal. If you have a $1,500 stay, you’d get 8,000 AA miles (2 miles per $, plus the 5,000 mile holiday bonus).
