Refresh the page so that it loads all of the circle pieces or click on challenges and then back to collections. Then you’ll be able to get to the bottom of the page.

From what I understand just the first game is free, not 1 free game per day.
Correct?

You get one free play for singing up, plus two plays per day (purchases and free plays combined).

Each Entrant may earn one (1) Game play during the Promotion Period for registering for the
Promotion/viewing the Guided Tour; each Entrant may earn up to two (2) Game plays per day
during the Promotion Period by either making up to two (2) purchase transactions with a registered
Starbucks Card or App; or up to two (2) “free” requests; or a combination of the purchase and free
entry method for a total of two (2) plays per day.

You can also get bonus plays from completing the purchase challenges or selecting the challenge for your free play.

Thanks. First I read How to play, now I do see it in official rules.
However you need to request a free entry each time.

You guys should add clarification to the article. You can do the “Daily Challenges” for free. I was able to do Tier 1 and Tier 2 challenges (Tier 2 gave me three game plays), and two entries into the Daily Game.

Basically, you keep going to the game page, and as someone mentions, keep clicking on the link at the bottom of the page in fine print, where it says

**NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A purchase of any kind will not increase your chances of winning. To enter without making a purchase, click here.

Once you click on that, select one of the entries from the first drop-down. Fill out all your info. Get an email. Click on the link in the email. Play for free.

Rinse. Repeat.

Keep doing that until all options except for “Daily Play” disappear, and clicking on the email link gives you “Sorry, you already redeemed your 2 daily plays”.

No purchase is necessary to play the game at all. You just have to keep clicking on that link at the bottom of the page until you run out of available options. Hope it makes sense. If not, just keep doing it until it does. 🙂

Thanks for the tip! Looks like you’ll be able to complete the weekly challenges for free (4 plays today) and earn 2 daily plays on top of that. C’moooooon free coffee!

Great tip thanks. I was just going and refreshing and not understanding why I was getting my free plays..

Is anyone else getting a robot verification each time you try to submit the form? Anyway around that?

Mikey

Thanks! Had no idea this was going on, Strange since I had been in Starbucks earlier this afternoon. Saw nothing promotional except the announcement of their new Juniper Latte which someone joked tasted like warm Pine Sol. Even the barista told me when she first smelled the flavored syrup she thought she had picked up a bottle of cleaning solution by mistake. So if you win stars best not to spend it on this one. Ho ho hum.

Most of these are coupons that require making a purchase but hey, at least they’re free. I’ll probably use a few.

Btw, does anyone know anything about how/why they replaced the peel-off star codes with receipt verification? Couldn’t find anything online. I was quite shocked to see a “just kidding” message inside my latest sticker. What if you’ve already thrown out the receipt??? My first thought was fraud but those codes were pretty secure (I hold on to them for months). And couldn’t you just doctor your receipts? More time intensive too (presumably human verification).

People can peel the stickers off the packaging at the store.

Ah good point. Just remembered I saw a case of that last month. But they are a b**** to get off! I’ve taken to cutting them out of the bag. lol

Mikey
Mikey

I discovered the new procedure a month or two ago after peeling off the sticker on a large COSTCO bag and not seeing any code to enter to get my 25 stars. The good news is that they were (and possibly still are) awarding 125 stars for the first receipt you submit. You can email it but texting a photo taken with your phone is faster.

Thanks for the tip! I buy mine at Amazon so using the webform is easier. I’m just concerned that it’s essentially a mail in rebate that will have to be evaluated by some idiotic claims adjustor. But I suppose I’m overthinking it. As someone else told me today, I’m pretty jaded after spending 5 years in this hobby. As long as they rubber stamp my receipts I’ll be happy. I also wonder if this is a ploy to make the claims process more difficult to discourage filing.

Mikey
Mikey

I honestly believe the change was intended to discourage fraud, meaning the peeling off of stickers from packages that the consumer did not purchase. The theft cost Starbucks in two ways: it rewarded those who made no purchase. And it discouraged sales of the bags with no stickers since those of us actually buying and redeeming the codes would not buy any bags with the stickers already removed.

Sexy_kitten7

Ah that makes sense. I just got my miles! Didn’t realize they calculate dollar value (revenue based lol), not pkg size. Suppose that makes it easier!

Could you please clarify what is peel-off star code or receipt verification?

Taxes on Grand Prize ….. Yikes!

According to contest rules for Grand Prize…. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $56,575

I know everyones tax situation is different, but at a 25% Tax Rate you are looking at over $14,000 in Taxes!

At $5 per menu item, you would need to visit Starbucks at least 2,800 times just to break even!

So, would you accept the prize?

Vy
Vy

I have yet to visit a Starbucks even once this year, but…maybe?
How often do you get to say you won the grand prize in any sweepstakes?

dpaq
dpaq

“Grand, First and Second First Prize Winners will be responsible for income tax based on the retail
price of the items that are redeemed and will receive an annual IRS Form 1099 for each tax year
where the total value of the prize redeemed is equal to $600 or more.”

I’d hope I would limit myself to visiting less than 100 times per year haha

I click https://www.starbucksforlife.com/#board, then I got ‘You have no plays.
Make a purchase** or complete
a challenge to earn more’. After I click ‘challenge’. Did I miss anything?

This seems like it might be relevant…

Members who joined the Starbucks RewardsTM loyalty program prior to November 26th, 2018 are not eligible to win a Sweepstakes prize. Entrants that become a member of the Starbucks RewardsTM loyalty program on or after November 26th, 2018 are eligible to win a Sweepstakes prize.

Trevor
Trevor

Wow that’s weird, and lame!

Ann
Ann

That seems… backwards. Limits like this are usually with the intent of preventing people from signing up for a bunch of duplicative accounts after the sweepstakes is announced, to get more entries. Instead, they’re preventing loyal existing customers from winning.

What was the coupon

Subhuman-Male

Instant Win – a coupon for a non-espresso coffee drink. “Enjoy a coupon for a free brewed coffee, valid today through January 7th, 2019. Please present the barcode to your barista to redeem the offer”.

Kyle

This doesn’t seem to be amounting to much. I’ve been playing on two accounts and so far only won 10 stars and 1 free coffee. Getting a whole lot of game pieces.

I was getting stars almost every day on that summer game.

Subhuman-Male
Subhuman-Male

30 stars & a non-espresso-coffee coupon for me. Also unlocked a new prize-tier (just unlocking it doesn’t amount to anything). But we still have a lot of future plays. Not giving up.

Has anyone had any luck winning anything except bonus stars? I’ve been getting only repeat cards for the last week now

If you get credit for your purchase in the first place. Half of the time I never get my spins. Last week they screwed me on the Weekly challenge, so I never got credit, costing me 3 extra spins.

Finished with 160 points and a 50% discount for a breakfast sandwich.

I finished the game with 230 stars, a free brewed coffee, and half off a breakfast sandwich.
