Starbucks To Offer 25 Bonus Stars & 10¢ Off When Using A Reusable Cup

Starbucks has announced that starting April 22 (earth day) customers that bring in a reusable cup will earn 25 bonus stars on their order and 10¢ off their drink order. A free hot coffee, bakery item or hot tea costs 50 stars so this is 50% towards a free item. You won’t earn the 25 stars when redeeming a free drink (as the terms state you must have made at least one Star–earning transaction to be eligible).

I have gone in with my reusable cups about 3 times since this started and all but one time did I get the 25 stars posted. Many employees don’t enter something to specify using a cup so accounts gets proper credits.

The person in front of me in line wanted to participate in this offer, and the employee had no idea they had to go look in the back for more information. It would be nice if they inform their employees about various promotions. Plus she brought in a reusable Starbucks cup that you got in one of those red cup promos from a few years back possibly from a holiday time.

“Valid at participating stores on in-store beverage purchases only (maximum 3
times per day
). To qualify for the reusable cup benefit, you must have made at least
one Star–earning transaction.”

This is tangentially related…has anyone that used to have a Starbucks Prepaid card noticed their stars still aren’t expiring because Starbucks thinks we still have the card?

I noticed 25 bonus stars but I usually place orders so it probably doesn’t apply.

The 25 bonus stars got my attention, the 10 cent discount on an overpriced beverage …not so much.

That covers the cost of the cup and accessories that they don’t have to give you.

So this is pointless for mobile orders, correct?

But you’ll have to get in line instead of ordering ahead or doing a drive-thru pick up – not worth it if the lines are long.

I’m sorry, does that say $0.10 off?

” It isn’t clear if you’ll earn the 25 stars when redeeming a free drink.” I doubt you will earn 25 stars on point redemptions. You don’t earn any points when you redeem points now so I don’t see this being any different.

the terms specifically say no:

“To qualify for the reusable cup benefit, you must have made at least one Star earning transaction.”

You used to earn bonus stars on star redemptions for buying certain menu items or ordering X days in a row. Is that no longer happening?
