[Expired][Targeted] Stash Hotel Rewards Card Offering 50,000 Points (Up From 10,000)

This bonus has expired, view the best credit card bonuses by clicking here.

The targeted language is being enforced. If you applied for the 50,000 offer in good faith then I’d recommend complaining to both Synchrony and Stash regarding the offer.

Our Verdict

Normally the sign up bonus on this card is 10,000 points. Points can only be redeemed for Stash hotels and points never expire. They use a dynamic pricing model, so there is no award chart or different categories to follow. We talk more about the points value in our dedicated review of this card. The nice thing is you can search for hotels here and see how much they cost in points. Here is a brief summary of what we saw last time we looked into this:

  • Elan Hotel Los Angeles 24th to 25th of October: 16,262 points or $189 (1.16¢ per point)
  • Cranwell Resort, Spa, and Golf Clu (7th to 8th of November): 29,749 points or $315 (1.06¢ per point)
  • Princess Anne Hotel 4th to 5th of December: 13,142 points or $247 (1.88¢ per point)

Unfortunately some hotels require you to request availability and don’t show their price in points. That being said it looks like points are worth around 1¢+, making this bonus worth $500+ towards independent hotels. Some things to keep in mind:

If you’re new to Stash make sure you sign up here to get 1,000 bonus points as well and then another 200 when you complete your profile.

Were you auto-approved, or did you have to call in?

so AF waived, points never expire…get card and cancel strategy with the downside of that being you presumably couldn’t get more points so you’d have to fit your redemptions as close as you can to what you have or risk losing some (or maybe reapplying for the card in the future I guess). I’m in vermont and actually not bad availability (amazingly) for me in Vt/NH/MA/Maine.

follow on question – can you get points from purchases at a member hotel that will keep your points alive? I read your detailed review and it seems stash can delete your points after 18 months with non use. I don’t want to keep the card and pay the AF necessarily, but there is a member hotel 10 miles from me that I could stop by every 18 months to buy a drink if that refreshes the points?

Poking around the redemptions, there’s actually some pretty darn cool hotels that you can squeeze at least two free nights out of, maybe even three. I’ve always enjoyed being flexible with my trips and working them around good redemptions — this seems like a prime opportunity.

The Hawaii resort is $600 or 70,000 points a night in (lets say) December
Also it says pay with Plastic and get 3,000 extra Stash points.

Applied for Cathay card, got pending message. Applied for stash card later on the same day, auto approved.

On top of the 1,000 points, you can also get another 200 points for “completing your profile”. There is a link in the new member email

Do we know if targeted language is enforced by synchrony in general? Since below is in the terms on the signup page.

“This offer is valid only for the intended email recipient and is non-transferable”

Do you know till when the elevated bonus will be available? With 5% cash back on freedom & discover etc, spending another $3k will be difficult, so asking what’s the last date if you know from your sources?

Please ignore, found in terms & conditions. Valid through 16/11.

One thing to temember when signing up:

“If you do not qualify for a Stash Hotel Rewards Visa Signature card you will automatically be considered for the Stash Hotel Rewards Visa Platinum card”

So you might get approved for a Statsh lower version just like i once got approved for BOA Alaska Airlines for a lower version and only recieved 5K points instead of 30K.

Kinda have a bad feeling about this one… after chatting with the customer service online and trying to get confirmation about the 50k offer linked to my account, she kept saying as long as you received the offer sent out on 10/9 directly from us and applied through the link. Oh well, I guess ill just have to do the $3k spend and see how it goes. Maybe play dumb and act like I didnt realize I didnt qualify if that doesnt work, get a courtesy match

Ugh. Got our Visa Signatures (two of them), with a leaflet with bonus language awarding 10k points, not 50k. Some painful phone calls in my future.

Since reddit won’t let me post because of my karma ill put my DP here, Wife applied and approved, received platinum version of the card with the little 10k paper. Called and costumer service rep confirmed 10k + 40k was tied to my account as long as I applied through the email. We’ll see how much this is enforced, might require some annoying phone calls. definitely YMMV

Did you receive the offer via email or just say you applied through the email? I’m curious if there’s a way to verify that on their end.

Don’t forget to send in arbitration removal letter incase you have to battle. It’s in the terms that you can send it within 60 days of opening.
