Our Verdict
Swagbucks are worth at least 1 cent per point making this a $5 moneymaker. Just beware that they will spam you afterward with physical mailers (personal experience doing a previous Nature Conservancy deal) so it might not be worth it for the $5 gain. That said, if you’d like to support the charity or if you’ll gain from the $25 tax deduction it could be worthwhile.
Pending Swagbucks usually show instantly. Just bear in mind that some people have had problems either with the portal tracking or with Swagbucks deactivating their account for reasons which aren’t clear, so keep the risks in mind.

Hat tip to Slickdeals
this deal is back for 5000 SB ($50). I donated $19 and i got an email confirmation from SB right away saying that the 5000 SB is pending. Here’s the direct link https://swagbucks.7eer.net/c/20866/1244750/799
hmm I did this deal back in Sept 2016 for 3,500 SB… but the deal is appearing for me. I assume i wont’ get it
Dang, just did this a few days ago when they had a special offer of an extra 300 SB (rather than the 500 SB offered here) for the first 250 donors. Not only is it “You snooze, you lose” but it’s also “You jump the gun, you lose”!
Much more problematic is the last time there was a significant round of these kind of charity deals resulting in swagbucks, only one offer actually worked. The rest required a major investment in time and effort to secure the swagbucks, and that failed to happen twice despite promises to the contrary. Because they make you wait before you can pursue a claim, then set an arbitrary window where you can complain, you have to use a calendar to mark down your dates for protesting failed deals, and if you miss it, they tell you it is too late. This can be a MAJOR hassle.
After investing at least 5-6 hours chasing down the other offers from a few months ago and giving up on two altogether, I decided these kinds of deals are not worth the effort. In addition, participating in them gives these charities the right to contact you by phone, mail, and in one case texting regardless if you provided them with correct contact information or not. Like many charities these days, most use a third party service that sells alternatively-collected contact information that you may have “omitted” and they will start calling, even on cell phones, looking for money. Since they started purchasing contact info from the credit bureaus and some state DMV offices who resell this info, they can track you down on numbers you may have never shared with any telemarketer or charity. Then those charities sell your info to other aligned charities as well, so it doesn’t take long to start getting called at least once a week and pelted with junk mail.
Unfortunately, as with many of these charities, it is not unusual for much of your contribution to be spent on soliciting additional contributions, paying very cushy salaries and expense accounts, and only a fraction of the donated amount actually goes into the cause. Some charities are better than others. That’s why I stopped giving to big city public broadcasters, the American Red Cross, and groups like the Arbor Day Foundation, where money isn’t being spent where most donors think it should be.
True, I’ve got a couple of phone calls from them and keep getting mail every month.
If did deal through Swagbucks, can you do again through my points using different or maybe even same email?
Seems to be blocked based on the Swagbucks account from doing again
I can see why NC does this deal.. they get your address and phone #. Luckily the calls have stopped but the mailers continue coming in
I agree. I did this deal several years ago and the mail never stops coming from them and several others who I’m sure got my name and address from NC because of the causes they are supporting. I still get calls from them on occasion, too. It was a fine deal, but be aware of what you are getting into if you do this.
