The Offer

No Direct Link, Targeted Offer

  • American Express are currently offering selected charge cardholders 10,000 points when they enroll Extended Payment Option

The Fine Print

  • Email subject line is ‘You Qualify for a Flexible Payment Option’
  • Valid until December 2nd, 2017

Our Verdict

If you have any questions about Pay Over Time (e.g hard/soft pull) I’d recommend reading through our F.A.Q on the topic found here. You don’t actually need to use the pay over time feature to get the 10,000 bonus points, you must simply enroll in it.

Did an email search for “you qualify”, and up popped 94 “priceless surprise” emails. Ah, memories.

I got this offer on my PRG ” With this special offer, you can earn up to 20,000 Membership Rewards® points – when you add new Additional Card Members through this email, you can earn 5,000 points for each new Additional Card Member that spends $500 or more in purchases on their Card in the first 3 months of Card Membership (up to a maximum of 20,000 points).”
But when I click on the link in the email it takes me to a non-secure webpage and as this offer is via email link only, I am SOL since I don’t want to type sensitive info on a non-secure webpage.
Any solution?

I still have no idea what a charge card is when it comes to AE.

Charge cards have no pre-set spending limits. Examples are Platinum card, PRG, Gold card, Green card. Credit cards have credit limits: examples are Delta gold, SPG, etc.

I’ve gotten about 5 emails encouraging me to enroll, but it never offers the 10K bonus points (Biz Plat). Anyone have an idea how to get targeted for the 10K points?

Earlier today I was given a call about this (10K pts mentioned by automated voice but it kept ringing and no live human came to say anything).

I’ve gotten this on two or maybe three charge cards in the past. I’m hoping they offer it on my green charge card, which would be nice.

I keep receiving email “selected to enroll your Card to pay off purchases over time” without any bonus points. Disappointed.
