[Expired] [Targeted] American Express Marriott Spending Bonuses

Deal has ended, view more American Express deals by clicking here.

The Offer

  • American Express is offering some Marriott cardholders spending bonuses. Some of the offers are as follows:
    • Spend $1,000 and receive 10,000 bonus points
    • Spend $1,500 and receive 15,000 bonus points
    • Spend $2,000 and receive 20,000 bonus points

The Fine Print

  • Valid until 12/24/2020.

Our Verdict

Basically an extra 10 points per dollar spent. Spend requirements aren’t too high, so should be useful for people that value Marriott points.

Got the offer today, wasn’t there past few days. So it appears to be rolling out still.

Got 15k for $1.5k spend on my regular Marriott Amex. Not bad to stack with extra point bonuses with that card too!

It would be nice if the Marriott word was not there and it’s available in all cards.

Looks like I’m targeted for the $1,000 spend and get 10,000 Bonvoy points on my Bonvoy Brilliant card. I also have the spend $1,000 on this same card and get a $100 statement credit. A nice stack.

Triple stack with $75 back on $250 at Marriott. And Quadruple stack with 10X points back in gas Dining and Marriott.

A gentle reminder: we are all drowning in a sea of spend bonus marketing options. Would it be too much to ask for post like this to include some clue about how/where one might actually find this? Maybe say something like “check your email” or “sent via postal mail” or “check your Amex offers”? Sure would save a lot of people some needless detective work…

Have 2 $95 AF Bonvoy cards and 1 $450 AF, upon checking. I get an offer of 10,000 Bonvoy points after spending $1,000+ on my $450 AF one. Good deal since I am having Gas and Dining 10x offer on my $450 AF card. I am essentially earning 20x on Gas and Dining if I spend exactly $1000.

Spouse received on her Brilliant card, spend $1,000.00 get $100 statement credit. Going for that with the gas and dining promotion you mentioned above. I’d rather have statement credit as we are points rich.

I would love your offer more for sure. 1 Bonvoy point is less than 1 cent worth, which makes $100 SC better than 10K BPs (probably just worth $70 at most)

Well I got lucky and got both on my Bonvoy Brilliant card. Spend 1000 and get $100 back and 10000 from gas dining or Marriott stay and 10000 bonus points with this promo as well as $75 back on $250 spend at Marriott. So technically I think I’m suppose to spend 1075 since I get $75 back from Amex. So it’s like getting 20000 points and pay $900 on $1075 of combined gas, dining, and. Marriott.

Is this spend $2,000 in general at any vendor? Or spend $2,000 at Marriott properties? I presume the former, but just want to make sure.
