Interested in the answer to tribesman55 ‘s question below: “ Has anyone done a single transaction of $4000 for this to see if it credits $400 ?”

Thanks!

Thanks and good luck! FWIW, I’ve met with smaller spend so haven’t had opportunity to test.

Single charge of $4000 triggered the $400 credit 👍🏻

This is my data point, but I spent $1,900 for one transaction, $200 in a second one and then a third transaction for $2,100 and the statement credit offer credited the full $200 for each transaction that met the threshold of spend (I got the max $400 statement credit that could be reached for this offer as a result from 2x $200 statement credits).

This indicates that a single $4,000+ transaction will more than likely credit the full $400 statement credit as I did a cumulative $4,000 spend than two $2,000 spend transactions for 2x $200 statement credits ($400 total).

Does it have to be two separate transactions of $2000+ to get the $400 total or can I do a single transaction of $4000?

I will try for two separate transactions. However I will note the recent $10 back for spending $250 AmEx offer at grocery stores (up to 3 times) on multiple cards automatically credited $20 for $500+ purchases which was very convenient for me.

Nothing on P1 and P2 cards (All MR as well as other Amex cards). Of late I’m not getting any targeted Amazon spend offers from Amex, not sure why.

Got this on my American Express Business Prime (Amazon card). Any idea if American Express will claw back if used to make property tax payments using PayPal bill pay? This offer makes it a better deal to use the Biz Prime card rather my Freedoms which only get 5% back or 6.25% if transferred to a CSR. This would be 11%.

Amex has stated that property tax payments are valid.

Not really. You get 1% back as baseline plus another 10% so 11% total. Versus 5/6.25% (25% boost with PYB) on CSR.

Nothing on my Green. I don’t know if we’ve ever used this card to make an Amazon purchase though, so that may be why.
