Data Point: I purchased a new Progressive Condo policy using Amex today and it triggered the offer. Perhaps Progressive just started taking Amex, or you can only use it for new policies? Regardless I wanted people to know it worked even though previous comments said Progressive does not accept Amex.

I only got the offer on 1/4 cards. Oh well.

Paid $300 of our homeowner’s insurance (NorCal, AAA) on the Amex and put the other $900 on another card that is doing 5x point right now.

$30 from Amex and $45 in rewards on the other card = $75 total for paying my insurance. I’ll take it! 🙂

Worked for me. Received confirmation email from AmEx when I tested a $1 payment on my AAA auto insurance (Northern CA).

Hi. I have a question.
Progressive does not accept Amex
But they accept paypal
If i add my amex to paypal
And pay progressive with paypal
Will it show up in amex as paypal or progressive?

It shows up as both. Typically, payments with Paypal do NOT work to trigger offer credits (although I think there is a *chance* it will work here since this is a different kind of offer, not tied to a merchant).

Confirmed for USAA (combined auto/renters policy) – put down $1 trial to confirm, got the amex offer confirmation email.

And one note – on the mobile app I couldn’t get my amex card I added to show in the list of pay from account – and it had a note about if your card doesn’t show up you can’t pay with it (to which I feared they didn’t accept amex). On the normal website I was able to pay with it no problems.

If this works for ACA insurance I’ll be a happy camper! Trying it out on my State Farm auto insurance first.

I have it on 4/6 amex cards
I was able to load it on all 4
By opening 4 tabs (under same browser)
And then clicking add to card at each tab.
(Progressive takes Amex if you call costumer service and pay over the phone).
