Our Verdict
We saw a similar offer on business cards. Problem with both promotions is that they are only for new users. I imagine most of the readers that would want to take advantage of this type of deal are already Plastiq users. Plastiq charges a fee of 2.5%. Best card to get this offer is the Arrival Plus as it normally earns 2x if you send $5,000 exactly you’d earn 4x and it would be slightly profitable.
Hat tip to reader u2 & MtM
So you spend $5,000 and pay $125 fee to get 10,000 points? That is just $100.
I got this offer with my Uber card. Bad deal.
There’s a big difference between this offer is valid now, while the business one isn’t valid until 10/1. So for this offer, wouldn’t it be possible to stack with the fee-free masterpass promotion that ends 9/30? Seems like that would be a pretty great deal.
just a quick question to the owners of this website I am tempted to sign up for 4 cards from Barclays will that go down as one inquiry? under your article entitled ” credit inquiries” you wrote Barclays allows you to do up to 3 at one time. does that mean if I try 4 it would go down as 2 inquiries or did you mean to say you cannot get approved for more then 3? thank you for this great website
barclays is strict with approvals, no way they approve you for 3-4. Even getting two will be a stretch. Recent DP say pulls are no longer being combined: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/card-issuers-that-combine-multiple-credit-pullsinquiries/#Barclay
thank you for the reply much appreciated
Lol. I’m U2. Just a quick question from your final verdict, wouldn’t the Uber card get 2% if Plastic counts as an online purchase. Btw, the email I sent shows the offer is for the Uber card.
Don’t think plastiq counts from memory, but I might be wrong.
