Our Verdict
I wonder if these 5x events will become more common now that the card isn’t associated with the NBA and doesn’t earn 5x during the NBA finals and all star weekend. Most people aren’t spending much on movies these days due to the MoviePass (unlimited movies for $9.99 per month) but restaurants is a category that is lacking any 5x options. A lot of restaurants will sell gift certificates even if they aren’t big brands if you ask as well, good for stocking up at a place you regularly visit.
