- Some readers with BBVA Compass checking accounts (from this $200 bonus) are reporting receiving an e-mail offering them $50 for setting up and receiving a qualifying direct deposit. The direct deposit must be received by April 16th, 2018
The Fine Print
- You must be a BBVA Compass Consumer Checking primary account holder who received an email from BBVA Compass directly referencing this offer.
- Only select clients who do not currently have any direct deposits posting to their account will qualify for this offer.
- There is a maximum of one (1) bonus per household. This offer is not combinable with other BBVA Compass Workplace Solutions / Compass For Your Cause cash bonus promotions, or any other BBVA Compass cash bonus promotion.
- The $50 bonus will be deposited to the primary accountholder’s checking account within 60 days of meeting the bonus requirements.
- BBVA Compass may report the value of the bonus to the IRS as required by law.
- Any client whose tax status would require BBVA Compass to impose tax withholding of any sort will not be eligible for this bonus.
Our Verdict

This has been the gift that keeps on giving for some people, as they also had a targeted $10 bill pay bonus as well. Obviously this won’t be added to the best checking promotions page due to it being a targeted bonus for existing account holders.
