Our Verdict
Public bonus is only $500, we’ve seen these targeted offers of $1,000 before and we even found a public link last year as well. Looks like Capital One is getting smarter as this requires a unique reservation number and access code to get the $1,000 this time. Overall this is a good offer, basically 10% cash back on all purchases if you spend $10,000 exactly (really 12% as this card earns 2% back on all purchases). Hitting the $10,000 spend requirement might be difficult for some people, but most businesses shouldn’t have too much trouble.
Traditionally the major complaint about Capital One has been that they pull all three credit bureaus and unfortunately they still do this. How much of an issue this is will really depend on where you live and what other issuers pull (e.g in some areas all issuers will only pull the same issuer so having inquiries on the other two issuers doesn’t really matter). You can also freeze your Experian or TransUnion report and they will just pull the other two and still approve you. Also some evidence to suggest they have a one card per six month rule. If you’re not familiar with Capital One please read these things everybody should know about Capital One credit cards first. If this wasn’t targeted I’d be adding it to our list of the best business credit card bonuses.
