The Offer

No direct link to offer, should show under the promotions tab on SWA site

  • Chase & Southwest are offering some credit cardholders a 25% bonus on points when they have a certain amount of points post to your Rapid Rewards account between 12/1/19 and 2/29/20 under the category ‘credit card’.

The Fine Print

Our Verdict

We saw a similar deal earlier in the year, but that required 10,000 points to post to the account.

Based on the wording I would think the 10,000 referral points bonus count. I saw it on P2’s and not mine with a minimum 6K points, so I will change my reddit referral pool links to hers..

I have 45k SW points (combination of referrals & spend) pending to my Chase SW card, which will post when statement closes on March 9. I just saw the 25% southwest bonus offer, but the points have to post after April 1 to count. Is there anything I can do to delay my statement from closing until April at this point in order for my SW points to post in April for the bonus?

I don’t think so. I have 20k+ pending as well. I think that’s why they start it on Apr. 1st, to promote new spending.

That might work out for me as I have to spend most of a $5K SUB in the next few months anyway. An extra $1K in spend to get the 1.5K points on top of the regular earning is probably worth it.

Are you seeing these offers in your Chase account? Or in your regular SWA rr account?

Mine was for a minimum of $35k, I guess it’s dependent on your spending patterns.

What kind of points qualify? So if I transfer 100K UR does the 25% bonus count towards CP?

ELI
ELI (@guest_836632)

in fine print, it specifically excludes UR transfers from counting.

Mine was for 15,000 points minimum. For what it’s worth, I was also targeted for and completed the previous 10K minimum promo that ran from July through October, so perhaps that’s the reason for the increased minimum this time around.

Adding a DP, Signed up for SW Priority 40k + 20k, a similar bonus points offer was added after 40k earned but before 20k threshold was reached. 20k posted in the bonus points promo window and it did count toward earning the extra bonus points like this offer here.
