The Offer
- Chase & Southwest are offering some credit cardholders a 25% bonus on points when they have a certain amount of points post to your Rapid Rewards account between 7/1/19 and 10/31/19 under the category ‘credit card’.
The Fine Print
- Points count towards companion pass
- Bonus points earned from Chase on a new credit card promotion will not be eligible for the 15% bonus. Last year this was included but sign up bonuses still worked.
Our Verdict
Really only useful if you get this in the period where your sign up bonus will post, as the normal earn rates on the Southwest cards aren’t really worth considering. We saw a similar deal earlier in the year, but that was only a 15% bonus.

Thanks for this – I thought this was a marketing email to earn miles through their non flight businesses and deleted it after a glance. Fingers crossed it will work with my 60k bonus posting soon, but if not at least I tried.
I guess the annual points awarded when the annual fee is paid are not excluded? Too bad mine will post before the start of the promotional period.
Its only for points posted as “credit card spend”. So you’re not missing anything with the annual points!
I got this offer and registered. Came at a perfect time- I’m slowing down on opening cards- just $500 to meet min spend on latest card. Will be using SW biz and personal card for everything until I hit $10k.. then just SW personal until December. Get my 2500 pts with this promo, then another 20k pts once I hit the $12k spend in first year. That is a free flight right there. 🙂
If CC signup bonus does not count towards 10,000 minimum points required for this bonus, I wonder how many people really spend more than $10K in 3 months on a Chase Southwest CC!
Would be great if they give this reward on Chase Southwest CC signup. Could make the CC more lucrative.
Plenty probably use as their daily driver-I know my mother does and is comforably in 6 figure income so would likely have over $3k/mo spend

As a DP, I registered for the promotion the last time around just in case and had card bonuses hit during the period, just got 15,000 bonus points posted to my account a week ago.
I suppose it could end up getting clawed back but for now they’re there.

Well maybe it was a referral. The description reads “Southwest Chase Bonus”. But many others on Reddit confirmed having the same appear on Monday’s DD thread.
