Our Verdict
Nice offer, but the 2,500 point cap means you can only do $250 in spend before maxing this out. Still worth doing though.
Hat tip to FM
I never get any promo emails from Citi, even though I have checking, savings, and several credit cards with Citi. How do I opt in?
It’s probably slightly more than $250 in spend.
If the T&C say “9 bonus points” then you can do 2,500/9 = $277.78.
Actually, I got six months interest free on new purchases through December 1st on the Dividend Card, so here’s hoping the 3rd quarter has worthwhile purchases other than the normal travel, rental car, etc.
Which cards have rec’d this offer?
Does anyone know if this would be applicable to Costco Citi card?
Citi Costco doesn’t have TY points so I would say no.
Does Citi classify Target as a grocery store?
I made a in-store purchase at Target and got 5%.
It was part of a targeted spending offer that just ended May 31, 2020.

Use your card to earn 5 ThankYou® Points per $1 spent, up to 2,500 points, through 05/31/2020 on eligible purchases¹ you make at: Grocery Stores, Gas Stations, Drugstores, Mass Transit & Commuter Transportation Vendors.
Not typically for the Rewards+ grocery category, but check your app/bill and let us know how it looks. Sometimes there are work-arounds (e.g. Walmart grocery pickup codes as grocery even though Walmart doesn’t).
I have the Citi Thank You Preferred and my most recent purchase at Target in-store received the 5x rewards which really surprised me.
And the only email I get is about Covid-19 or the country’s protests. smh
What is your email address? Do you love russian mail order brides?
No, no and just NO!! My spambox cannot take it anymore.
I feel your pain. The only offer me additional points IF I get their “high interest” savings acct.
