Our Verdict
Typically, redemptions for gift cards are one cent per point. With this offer, targeted users will get any available gift card for a point value of 1.25 cents per points if you’d value the gift card at face value (unlikely). Popular options include Home Depot, Best Buy, Kohl’s, and dozens of others.
Seems like the Premier card gets the best gift card redemption offers.

Received this email last week. Bought 75$ worth of Best Buy GCs with 6000 TY points.. Sold them on Cardpool for ~92% value..
I’m guessing they don’t offer VGCs?
I suppose in that case mortgage check for straight cash is still a better option for most folks.
I am guessing they target users who can and have made redemption that cost them more than 1.2c per point like travel bookings on Premier / Prestige cards or partner transfers.
Point transfer during the promo is perhaps the best option, followed by 1.25c per point redemption via travel portal (if you have the right card). Mortgage check only gets you one cent per point.
That makes sense. This offer was available on my prestige but not premier. I have redeemed flights on the prestige only.
