[Expired] [Targeted] eBay: $15 Off $75+ With promo Code TRIPLETHRILL/TURNITAPP

Deal has expired, view more eBay deals by clicking here.

Update 11/18/19: Seems like eBay is targeting more people for this promo.

Update 11/12/19: TURNITAPP might work for in app purchases

The Offer

Targeted, sent out via e-mail. Subject line is ‘It’s the gift that keeps on giving…’

  • eBay is offering some users $15 off when you spend $75+. Deal can be completed three times

The Fine Print

  • Valid until 11/21/19

Our Verdict

Shame that this is a targeted promotion as it’s a great deal. You can try going through a portal for additional cash back, but the coupon code will likely invalidate any portal.

I call CS and sounds like I got a rep located in the US. He issued a new $15 off code, no questions asked. Looks like I got lucky.

I got the email titled “Time to try out the eBay app! You can use this coupon for 3 app purchases!”

However, nowhere in the body of the email is there a mention of a coupon. Nor is there a coupon code mentioned. I tried both of the ones listed here, neither work.

Three different members of my family have received the “TRIPLETHRILL” offer via Ebay…… All three of us have tried it with each of our Ebay Usernames and NONE of them had any success with the “TRIPLETHRILL” offer……it just does NOT work

According to an eBay rep that posted in the eBay forums, the email erroneously went out to people who were not targeted.

You only have the offer if you had a message in your eBay.com account inbox.

He also claimed that those who were not targeted could not use either code.
I find that hard to believe since there were folks who were not targeted who claimed that they were able to use the code.

Sounds like somebodies in IT messes up big time. Probably outsourced IT in India. LOL.
How hard is it to write software to do this correctly?

How is this legal? I went to purchase an item just now and found the same problem as the rest of you… they emailed me the code but it doesn’t work anymore. Not going to sit on hold with outsourced eBay customer service only to argue with them for $15. But not pleased about it.

Really odd.
This morning when I read my email from yesterday Nov 18, there was the coupon code at the bottom of the email. Must have been a JPG or PNG.

Now, when I look at it again, there was no coupon code

wow!

Sounds like a link in the email was taken down so that coupon code does not show up.

There was no message when I logged into eBay, so I guess I was not officially targeted.

And yes, the coupon was a JPG or PNG on eBay servers.
I remember now that I had to “Load Images” for that coupon code to show up.

I called eBay.
And they said that I have until 11/22 to purchase an item > $75 and they will take $15 off.
Hey, eBay! That’s not how it is suppose to work.
The guy I talked to said that the code was withdrawn because too many people had used. LOL.

Fake promotion. Received e-mail. Not working at all.
Called them but they didn’t believe that I received this through e-mail, saying this code can only be sent through e-message.
What a waste of time! and being tricked.

So should we all flag the email we received as spam?

eBay people are idiots.
They give the same code to some people who then make it public.
The smart thing to do would have been to create unique codes for each person.
Not that hard to do. SMH.

Wow, well that was a waste of time. I too received the “Time to try out the eBay app!” e-mail and the code “TRIPLETHRILL” was not working.. I just got off a 10-minute phone call with eBay customer service and they are claiming they never sent such an offer.. Yes, I am using the correct account so not sure what the issue is but not worth my timing continuing to fix their issue. Oh well…
