[Targeted] Fidelity 2% Cash Back Card: $300 Sign Up Bonus

The Offer

No direct link to offer. Sent out via snail mail to some existing Fidelity customers

  • Fidelity is offering some existing customers a bonus of up to $300 when they sign up for the Fidelity Rewards Visa signature card. Bonus is broken down as follows:
    • Earn a $150 bonus after you spend $1,500 or more within the first 90 days of account opening
    • Earn an additional $150 bonus after you spend an additional $4,500 ($6,000 total) within the first 90 days of account opening

Card Details

  • No annual fee
  • Card earns 2% cash back on all purchases
  • Introductory APR of 0% on purchases and balance transfers for the first 12 billing cycles

Our Verdict

This card has a public sign up bonus of $100, so this $300 offer is significantly better. It’s also always useful to have a 2% everywhere card to put non category spend on if you’re not trying to meet a minimum spend requirement. This card frequently has targeted spending bonuses as well, problem is that they usually don’t post automatically without some nudging on your behalf so lots of cardholders just don’t bother with them. Overall a fantastic deal and well worth doing if you’re targeted, wish this was a public bonus because if it was it would be added to the best credit card bonus page.

I have found that my targeted spending bonuses always post without my reminding them. It just takes a full 2 billing cycles after the end of the promotion.

Only $150 for me. without the second part
“Earn an additional $150 bonus after you spend an additional $4,500 ($6,000 total) within the first 90 days of account opening”

I just got the $150 offer via email, too. Has anyone tried calling to see if they will add in the second $150 bonus for $6000 spend?

For me, at least, all the increased spending bonuses do post, they just take 12 weeks to do so (and the terms of the promotion always indicates this; they stick to the terms).

Hell yea. I hope I get targeted now that I am a Fidelity customer from that amazon gift card promo.

Perfect timing. Will pay my quarterly estimate with the credit card and actually make some money back.

Can I call in and get this offer? And just tell them about it?

Looks like normally a 3% balance transfer fee. Does the signup offer include any waiver period for that?

Yay, got the mailer and I don’t yet have a 2% card!

mind letting us know your relationship with Fidelity / Elan FCU that might have landed you this mailer?

I agree with @DOC about 2% cards, but since BoA Premium Rewards and Preferred Rewards, my Fidelity card is never used. Same argument could be made for Alliant CU.

how easy or difficult to get approved with them for a new credit card? Thanks.

It seems like everyone might be receiving different offers; I received a snail mail offer for only the $150 total this week.

Anyone know which credit bureau Fidelity checks? Just got this in the mail today and would like to know which one to unfreeze.

Edit: read on the linked post’s comments it’s transunion. Well, I’m banned from Barclay and BofA business cards inquiries are the only ones there, so hopefully it’s the one.

Application was not auto-approved. Oh, well.

Opened a fidelity account around June July 2018 for the 200 bonus. Have had it opened since. I only have $600 there in an etf.

Called in to try and get the $300 offer (the $150/$1500+$150/$4500). The rep said I would have to provide a specific code to attach that promo. She then proceeded to look for the offer in their system and to check under my name and zip code (she couldn’t look me up by my Fidelity account #’s, I have brokerage, roth ira and cash mgmt.) She did however find a $150/$1500 offer. I took it.

Worth it for me, I need a good 2% card for purchases outside of typical high % categories. I have the Citi Doublecash card, but I do not like how long it takes for rewards to accumulate. I often have to wait for several billing cycles.

I never experienced that with Citi DC. My rewards post like clockwork on the day the statement cuts.

I received the application form by mail and summited it online in March but forgot to put in the promotion code, so i didn’t get bonus. i called them today and they asked for promo code. i can’t find it back probably i threw it in the trash at that time. plan to cancel it
