I was targeted for the SPG Luxury 125k card, and got it yesterday. It’s my 6th Amex personal credit card (I don’t have any charge card). I feel like I should’ve gone for HH Aspire instead.

That’s actually pretty common now, from what I later learnt.

75k for 3k spend. Think I should take it? I generally don’t have a problem hitting minimum spends, so I don’t want to pass up 25k too easily. But still seems worth it for both credits.

Really wish I’d seen this yesterday. My anniversary date is 11/6, and it’s 11/5…

Waiting until I can do upgrade and new card simultaneously and it’s right before annual fee so I can double dip the $300 credit.

I don’t see them stopping upgrade bonuses fir this card anytime soon

I don’t have any upgrade offer. I wonder if this is because I have the Chase Business Marriott card.

my upgrade offer is the same as before: 15k. Guess they don’t really want me to upgrade, haha.

This is when you wish you would have upgraded your SPG card when they were offering 100k points for 5k spend. I was torn between taking the 100k points upgrade bonus or waiting to see if a better offer would come along. I’m glad I decided to take the 100k point offer before it expired on 10/31. The 50k point upgrade offer is crap compared to what they were offering.

how the hell did you think 100k was no good? ur crazy bruh. i couldve easily told u that. we are not talking about HH here. this is starriott. if u get a 100k upgrade offer, u take it. its not going up anytime soon. max marriott was 150k for 30k or 120k pts for 12k. none of those are good vs 100k for 5k in the new program with new award charts.

I definitely took the 100k upgrade offer but I seriously contemplated it for a while. Normally, I would just jump on something like that since that is 33,333 points under the old AMEX SPG card. I’m actually kinda wondering if I could get away with also upgrading my chase marriott card at the same time and score an additional 50k points before 12/31/18 without Marriott / Amex / Chase catching it.

glad u took the 100k. if u get upgrade offers with big bonuses, u need to take it dude. to me, its a no brainer free new bonus. doing another new app just causes unnecessary problems like additional review of ur account or the amex RAT mssg. since u did the amex lux upgrade, u need to move on to the marriott 50k asap before they share data.
