The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Topcashback is offering increased bonuses when you select a cash out option other than cash.

The Fine Print

  • Valid until December 29th, 2017 2 Am PST

Our Verdict

Best option is probably American Express gift cards at 5%, Amazon at 5% would also be an OK option for those that don’t have a way to get 5x/5% on those purchases anyway I guess.

Heads up – I have found *numerous* errors in what was promised, what was reported and how it was calculated, from the holiday period. Unfortunately, it looks like an audit is required. Shame on TCB for having so many problems getting it right. I may have to go back to Ebates. They have always been error-free.

Anyone know how long it takes to get one of the eGC (Amzn/Staples/Walmart) once you select that option ?

to answer my own question it is taking less than 24 hours if its a business day. Not sure of non-business days, but my request submitted yesterday \evening generated the GC this morning.

For AMEX card payout, https://www.topcashback.com/Help/248, it said in MORE DETAIL section: SUBJECT TO APPLICABLE LAW, A $3.00 MONTHLY FEE WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST CARD BALANCE STARTING 12 MONTHS AFTER CARD ISSUANCE. (Subject to applicable law, a $3.00 monthly fee will be assessed against any card balance starting 13 months after card issuance, on or before January 31 2017.) I don’t quite understand this. Does it mean I need to pay 3 dollars monthly fee?

Sweet! Thanks for the tip Will. I had $499.xx parked in my TOPCASHBACK account. Will unload at Toys R US for Gift of College Gift cards. Free $25 is not bad at all. Plus got in on 8 of the 5 Backs. Glad I checked DoC this night! 🙂

Last year I did the AMEX bonus and it took like 3 weeks to get the AMEX card. Do not recommend that option. Just stick with egift or PayPal.

So does it mean I need to call amex to deactivate this card after I max out this card?

Unfortunately Topcashback is having major problems with payouts now so you can end up not being able to get your cash back no matter the bonus. When you attempt to update your payment details their system puts you in an endless loop bouncing between web site update page/email confirmations.
I would advise anyone to refrain from touching their payment settings until they fix it.

Well, not as good as last year’s holiday promotion of 6% for Amex, but I’ll take it. Will, thank you for letting everyone know.
