Our Verdict

I assume most of the super expensive champagnes and premium spirits are excluded. Delta SkyClub already offers free drinks, but only a basic selection so this is good if you want something a bit nicer. They had a similar promotion back in June & December last year.

I can confirm this is basically unlimited, just 2 per lounge per day. They don’t swipe your card. They just need to see it (expired cards work too). Was able to get 4 premium drinks and two lounges in ATL during a 5 hour layover.

Do you have to pay to go in? I have the Delta Platinum Business card. I don’t understand this offer because if you have to pay to enter the Delta Skymiles Club lounge then the drinks and food are already free. Please advise. Thank you.

I’d like to know the answer too.

Your Delta Platinum business card does not give you free access to SkyClubs, but you do get a discounted admission rate of $29pp. Yes, the food and some drinks are free, but this offer gets you most premium drinks for free (where there’s normally a charge).

In my experience, the accounting of this benefit is basically non existent. They don’t even swipe your card. I was in the lounge and just had to show them my card. At the time, I don’t even think I had an active delta card. I showed them one that I had recently cancelled and they just looked at it and compared the name on the card to my ID. So if you cancel your delta credit card in the future, I would still hold onto your physical card (at least through card expiration) for promotions like this

If you’re not a member the only way into the SkyClub is joining, using a pass or as a guest. So if granted admission can a non-member be the one who uses their DELTA AMEX card for this benefit? And would it then be once for two drinks at each of multiple airport clubs per day? Anyone with experience know how Delta or AMEX account for this benefit?

I was wondering about that. LOL. You still need to get in the lounge somehow otherwise no free drinks; you can’t just get in for the purpose of getting those free premium drinks.

I happen to be in a skyclub right now. Thanks doc!

They don’t even swipe your card. You can get more than 2 drinks by going to different bar tenders lol.
