The Offer
- Gulf Coast Federal Credit Union is offering a bonus of $150 when you complete the following requirements:
- Open your first consumer share draft checking account with a $25 minimum opening balance
- Establish a qualifying direct deposit of $250 or more within 60 days of account opening
- Activate and make a signature or PIn purchase with debit card within 60 days of account opening
The Fine Print
- Qualfiying direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as social security0 from your employer or the government
- The bonus will be credit within 60 days after the requirements have beeb met
- Not available to existing customers or those who have closed their accounts within the last 12 months
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

I wasn’t able to find any mention of any early account termination fee in the fee schedule.
Our Verdict
Obviously need to know if this is a soft or hard pull to determine whether it’s worth signing up for or not. Even if it’s a soft pull the fact it’s in branch only and only a bonus of $150 means it’s definitely on the lower side. Confirmed hard pull so not worth it.If anybody goes for this bonus, please share your experiences in the comments below.
