U.S. Bank: Double Rewards On Portal Purchases & Cashback Deals (November 30 – December 3)

U.S. Bank has announced it will offer double rewards for Shopping Deals, Travel Center purchases, and cash back offers.

U.S. Bank has announced that it will offer a double bonus shopping opportunity for U.S. Bank rewards credit cardholders from November 30 to December 3, 2023. During this time, cardholders can earn double bonus rewards when they use a U.S. Bank rewards credit card for purchases, including double travel rewards and double shopping rewards.

There are three ways cardholders can double their rewards:

    1. Double rewards can be earned on purchases made through the Shopping Deals website or browser extension
    2. Rewards may be doubled on prepaid hotel and car rentals booked through the Travel Rewards Center
    3. Double cash back can be earned on activated cash back offers

To qualify for double cash back, cardholders must first activate the offers in the U.S. Bank mobile banking app or online banking website and then make purchases between Nov. 30 and Dec. 3, 2023, using a U.S. Bank rewards credit card. Cash-back deals will show up as a statement credit. Bonus rewards for travel will show up in one to two statement cycles, and bonus rewards for shopping deals will be dependent on merchant restrictions….

Additional seasonal Double Bonus shopping opportunities will be scheduled quarterly, later in 2024, to give cardholders additional opportunities to earn extra rewards next year.

Our Verdict

Regular credit card rewards will not be doubled. Could still be useful to save some of your U.S. Bank cash back offers for those dates to get double.

US Bank said if you open a business card, you’re no longer eligible for “cashback deals.” Mine disappeared when my business application was approved. I’m a customer since the NW days and there’s no fix for this. I hope enough people complain that they address it.

Also BOA does this a little differently- they still show the deals but the business cards just don’t trigger offers.

Used the Panera and Nuts.com offers. Made both transactions 12/02. Nuts triggered 12/08 and Panera (egift card) 12/11. Extra cashback hit at statement close. Seems like they improved the timing from the last double days.

Panera had the bonus $10 gift card for spending $50 and Nuts stacked with Rakuten so not bad but not many other offers available were tempting.

Came here to let everyone know that all three offers that should have qualified for double cashback has been received. As reported below on 12/19, I received the initial cashback on all three deals between 12/8 and 12/11 and then I received the double cashback on 12/22 (after my statement closed on 12/20). US Bank came through! I’m shocked! LOL

Has anyone gotten any kind of notification or statement credit from US Bank for this yet?

On one card, I got the statement credit (undoubled) but oddly it doesn’t show as ‘earned’ in the cash back deals section yet. On P2’s card, I got the amount (undoubled) added to ‘cash back earned’, but haven’t got the statement credit yet. On both cards, the transaction date is somehow showing 12/5 (yet a posting date of 12/4, wtf?), even though it was actually 12/1, so I assume they will stiff me on the double cash back. Calling customer service about these deals is like pulling teeth because usually they don’t even know what you’re talking about.

Better Planet Bob I did 3 deals…all 3 had a posting date of 12/4 and a transaction date of 12/5 (like what Queue_Underflow reported) even though I made the purchases on 12/1. On all 3 I got the undoubled statement credit (regular cashback) but no double cash back yet. I’m not ready to write this one off yet (or call customer service) as they have 2 billing cycles to post the bonus per the terms. But they are certainly going to stiff me because none of them are between 11/30 and 12/3 . Hope this helps!

Same for myself. Actual purchase was 12/04 at like 8 pm. But now that I’m looking at it in more detail, I am seeing:

Completed 12/05/2023

Transaction date
12/06/2023
Transaction time
12:42 am

Guess that shows the nature of bonus promos from banks that are unproven/unreliable compared to Chase or AmEx.

12/4 was outside the double period; did you mistype?

Not a mistype. Planned wrong with my dates. Poop. Can’t win them all.

Still waiting for even the undoubled statement credit on P2’s card! Gonna be really annoyed if that doesn’t come through. I have done US Bank cash back deals (including on that card) before with no problem.

Interesting that ALL cashback offers will double during the promotion’s time period. Unlike the B of A Amerideals promotion las month, where only specific offers would double and it excluded all non-dining & non-retail deals such as travel, lodging, subscriptions & service-based deals.

From the previous double days this Aug, I maxed out 4 deals with purchases on 08/09. Initial cashback for all 4 hit 08/14-08/15. 3 of the 4 got the 2nd cashback on 10/05. Last one I think took too long for the charge to settle and ended up outside the double days and I didn’t want to deal with USB phone support trying to get $2.

The list of cash back offers has been missing from the app and the website for me for several days now. Anybody else run into this?

Do you have a business credit card? I was told that because I have a business credit card, I’m not eligible for extra store cash back offers.

I only have personal cards with US Bank. I do have a business card with another bank but I’d be surprised if that were the culprit.

For me, the Cash Back Deals section disappeared in May when I opened a business credit card. I figured it was because business cards aren’t eligible for those deals.

I was hoping to remove the business credit card from my personal login to try to get the deals back. Chat reps directed me to call online banking support, and I haven’t followed through on that yet.

Is the max still what’s printed on the cash-back offer, or does it effectively double? I have many offers for 10% cash back but relatively low maximums ($5 or $10), so wouldn’t be worth it if it still has the same maximum.

@Chuck just a heads-up. The end date in your title is incorrect. The link makes it very clear this promotion ends on Sunday, 12/3, not Monday,12/4.

I believe this means that any online deals you take advantage of, need to be done on 11/30 or 12/1 in order to post in time?

It should/would effectively double.

Last time they offered this, it took about 6-8 weeks to pay out the bonus portion. Example, you activate an offer that pays out $6. You meet the requirements to get the $6 on the double payout days. The first half will be payed out normally. The second half can take 6-8 weeks to be paid out after the first portion is payed out.

Funny part is when i did this with a kindle unlimited offer, that paid out $6. The second half wasn’t even applied to the correct credit card. It was applied to different card.

Just some info to keep in mind if you plan on taking advantage of this deal.

I never received the double payout for the two offers I completed last time. It was offers I was doing anyway, I just delayed them for the covered dates. Nothing I want this time anyway.
