Our Verdict

Don’t think it’s worth considering the lower/no annual fee versions of these cards as the extra $50 and 10,000 miles should more than make up for the difference. U.S Bank has offered targeted bonuses of 40,000 miles on this card before (check to see if you’re targeted) and often offer 30,000 miles (15k after first purchase and another 15k after $2,000 in spend). 15,000 miles isn’t really enough to do anything, but you can transfer from SPG, Chase & Diners Club.

In the past they have also offered 15,000 miles + $100, so this is an improvement on that offer. Personally I still don’t think these offers are worth seriously considering unless you have a real need for 15,000 miles (and even then I’d say that transferring in miles would make more sense). If you’re thinking about applying, please read through these things everybody should know about U.S. Bank credit cards first.

    US bank is the only bank that approved me for just one credit card the club carlson and thats it.
    I have around 100 credit cards and only one from US bank. On the flip side Chase and Citi keeps approving me.

    @doc

    What is the best domestic airline for using up the airline credit for the credit cards?

    I find united is the best since you can accumulate all of them in a single account to have a larger quantity. For all other airlines you end up with a large number of small denomination gift cards which is a hassle. Anyone care to refutr with counter data points
