United App: Now Showing Chase Pre-Approved Offers That Bypass 5/24

The United mobile application is now showing pre-approved/pre-qualified offers for the Chase United Mileageplus card and these offers bypass the Chase 5/24 rule. The offers themselves should appear on the homepage and like other Chase pre-approvals that bypass 5/24 these offers will have a fixed APR.

No dice here DoC. Well over 5/24.

Weird. I got approved and I’m at lol/24. Did it show you a fixed APR in the offer or terms? Apparently that is a positive sign. My offer did show a fixed rate.

I received mailer in my name last week and even with that I have variable apr

Mailers do not bypass 5/24, even the ones with your name on it.

Unfortunately Chase United mailers have never bypassed 5/24.

Just applied for it and sent you a screenshot. Got shut down back in September by chase. Over 5/24. No auto denial, but no auto approval

Please do post an update here once you get a final decision. Thank you!

Variable APR from the in app offer. Was for biz version though.

So, the preapproved offer in the mailer doesn’t bypass the 5/24 rule but the one in the mobile app does?

I’m seeing a pre-qualified offer. Does this mean I can bypass 5/24?

RAM

I guess, mine does not have the purple ”pre-qualified” box

Frito Pendejo
Frito Pendejo

mine was only “pre-qualified” and I was insta-approved way over 5/24. I had “fixed” 17.99apr “that may vary with market rate”

Ditto. Same “PREQUALIFIED” banner here. Approved at lol/24.

I can see the offer in the United app, but the APR is not fixed, it’s variable. I’m at 6/24. Trying to decide if I should apply…

EyesOnThePoints

Jeremy so usually the Apr is fixed if you want to bypass 5/24.. Not sure why you have a pre-qualified offer and it’s showing variable. Think bout it. remember YOLO😎

I’m seeing an ad for the card but the APR isn’t fixed, so I assume this isn’t it. William Charles if you’re still interested I could send you a screenshot.

Well over 5/24, never had a United card.

There is an ad but without “you’re prequalified”.

Yeah that’s what I’m seeing, similar to the linked blog. Seems like Will has found a good screenshot now

13/24 approved

pre-qualified banner? fixed or variable? biz or personal?

Not all preapproved offers will have fixed APR. mine was at 17.99 and have screenshot as well

I got it on the app. Unfortunately i’m getting a mortgage in 5 months and will pass on this.

Thomas

it wont affect your mortgage

Staradimiral is right. Thomas is wrong. It very well could affect any loan application. Your FICO is not the only determinant. Have an 865 and was denied a very small 50k HELOC with over 500k in equity in our house with solid income. Underwriters do NOT like credit card applications irrespective of your FICO. They determine how many credit card apps are too many. The “explanation” about bonuses, never paying interest and using the cards for different purposes went on deaf ears. My actions were questionable to them, made them nervous.

PT
PT

I was approved for 200k HELOC with good credit scores, decent income, and high equity.

They did ask me to explain each and every inquiry in last 6 months as I had 5 new credit cards opened during that time and I truthfully said to use for travel (4 were travel cards) and one card for Costco and they accepted that fine.

I had four CCs in the last six months, just had to to date and sign what each inquiry was for our refi. I did a CC last year while we were getting our mortgage and that was a pain to tell them about and send documents. So I’ve learned to not do any inquires between your paperwork and payout. But five months before? Go for it.

Seems like a ‘you problem’ as I have been churning for years and was approved for a 3.0% 10/1 ARM (the lowest rate possible at the time) without stopping applications. Churning helped my credit and therefore, you are wrong.

Got it on my United app too. Approved with 6/24. Variable APR.

Wow, not a fixed APR?

Correct, variable APR, purple “you’re prequalified” banner, personal card, instant approval

Michael

Pre-approved with fixed interest rate. Applied and got a pending. Called the reconsideration line, but closed until tomorrow morning. Will update tomorrow. Way over 5/24.

Called back this morning…was approved overnight. Again, way, way over 5/24 so this definitely bypasses. Thanks, doc.

10/24 and approved on a variable APR offer.

business or personal? prequalified banner?

Personal and had the purple prequalified banner.

ExtraFiber

I had a banner ad that said “pre-qualified,” and the terms showed a fixed APR. I’m 4/6, 5/12, 11/24. Instantly approved.
