One of the benefits of the Chase United Explorer card is that you get 25% back in the form of a statement credit on all food, beverages and Wi-Fi made in flight. The United Club card with a $450 annual fee has previously not offered this benefit. Club cardholders are reporting that the 25% credit is currently being applied. At this stage it’s not clear if Chase/United intend for this to be a permanent change and haven’t updated marketing materials or if this is some sort of error. Earlier this year Chase/United made some positive changes to the Explorer card, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this was part of a broader set of changes that they intend to make to the Club card.
