United Club Card Now Offering 25% Back On In Flight Purchases

One of the benefits of the Chase United Explorer card is that you get 25% back in the form of a statement credit on all food, beverages and Wi-Fi made in flight. The United Club card with a $450 annual fee has previously not offered this benefit. Club cardholders are reporting that the 25% credit is currently being applied. At this stage it’s not clear if Chase/United intend for this to be a permanent change and haven’t updated marketing materials or if this is some sort of error. Earlier this year Chase/United made some positive changes to the Explorer card, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this was part of a broader set of changes that they intend to make to the Club card.

The United Club Card has always been an afterthought at both Chase and United. It really only works for serious business travelers based in United hubs.
