Our Verdict
VIP status means you earn 5x miles per $1 spent, instead of 1x for regular members and 3x for online members (basically opting to receive promotional e-mails) so it’s basically an extra 2x miles per $1 spent which is kind of nice. United have offered bonuses that partly didn’t require any dines in the past and lower spend requirements, but a lower overall bonus.
One way to get around the spend requirements is to purchase gift cards/certificates from participating restaurants that you eat out at often. How good this deal really depends if you can meet all of the requirements within 30 days or not. One other positive of this deal compared to others is you don’t need to leave the post dine reviews.
