- United Airlines is offering 500 bonus miles when you spend $200 or more through the United Airlines shopping portal between 5/14 and 5/24
The Fine Print
- During the “Treat Yourself Bonus” campaign, which runs from 05/14/18 through 05/24/18 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will earn a one-time bonus of 500MileagePlus® bonus award miles on cumulative qualifying purchases made through the MileagePlus® Shopping mall or from purchases made through MileagePlus® Shopping in-store offers.
- This one-time bonus award will be based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period: Earn 500 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $200 or more.
- “Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products that are not eligible for bonus miles.

- Please allow 8-10 weeks after the Bonus Period for bonus award miles to post to your MileagePlus® Shopping account.
Our Verdict
Chase United cardholders can get a further 30% bonus through the shopping portal currently. Not sure if you’ll get the 30% bonus just on the base spend, or on the 500 bonus miles as well. Alaska Airlines has the same deal currently and American Airlines has a similar deal but you only get a bonus 400 miles instead of 500. This bonus works out to be an extra 2.5 miles per $1 spent if you spend exactly $200. As always use something like cashbackmonitor to ensure you’re getting a good deal even with the bonus.
