Our Verdict

Readers DE and US sent this in, looks like a publicly available offer for all UPS My Choice members which is free to join. Personally, I’d rather have packages delivered to my door, but for someone who prefers the Access Point or who finds it easy to use, this is a nice little bonus.

how do they interface with USPS/amazon?

Drew R

They don’t. As soon as UPS scans a package with your address, their system automatically forwards it to the UPS location you chose. Great for inner city homes and apartments that UPS can’t leave indoors.

Won’t work for USPS or Fedex packages obviously.

I guess what I’m driving at is: How do we use to get whole [lotta target GCs for free]?

Guess reading and comprehending just not the things you were gifted.

The prior campaign was a jauntily-sloganed “Protect from Porch Pirates”, illustrated with an eyepatched pirate looking through a spyglass, which I quite enjoyed. 😆 “Yeah, let’s see if we can turn our poor delivery drivers’ ways and leaving us open to theft claims left and right, into a cute promotional campaign!” How about instilling better safeguards and hiring better people instead, UPS?

ETA: For the record, I’ve a great UPS delivery driver, and they’re far better than my local FedEx driver. However, we’ve also had a horrible trainee driver for the early shift, who never showed up without a dolly full of bashed packages; was so slow and incompetent he never tried to deliver anything direct to doors; and didn’t even arrange the clearly marked packages next to the appropriate banks of mailboxes in the lobby. Also humongous packages get misdirected and have hung about the lobby for 2+ weeks, with pitiful signs saying “UPS Please Take Me Back”, etc.

Yup. And you KNOW they’re still gonna bill the residential surcharge to shippers. Even after they pay out these “rewards” UPS will still come out ahead.

Lately, my UPS delivery person has been bypassing my house and just dropping my packages off at the access point anyway. With no avenue to even file a complaint, I might as well get some Target GCs out of it.

Same thing has been happening to me. Mail & Fed Ex made it every time, but for some reason UPS driver said our road wasn’t driveable.

Just wait until you start showing up at The UPS Store over and over to pick up your packages. I bet you’ll love the attitude- which in my experience is total crap even when you’re a *profitable* customer for the franchise. They’re getting peanuts for accepting and holding these packages.

Add about 20 more minutes or so to that as you get closer to xmas. Lines are out the door, literally.

I remember doing this last year but don’t remember getting the promised gift card 🤔 (I think it was Amazon back then)

“…Members who set their UPS Access Point preference before or after the Offer Period are not eligible for this offer.” (Offer Period is between October 31, 2019 and 11:59 pm ET on January 12, 2020)

I still have mine set from last year’s offer. Hopefully I can just delete the ups store pickup location and maybe re-add it tomorrow to qualify again?

This deal is around for a while. Got my packages forwarded weeks ago, no 1 month promo code, no account update yet, canceled it already. Don’t hold your breath.

stupid me. I can’t undo the access point now that it’s set up. I can’t find the remove option…
I have tons of packages and even furniture coming and it’s very unclear on the website whether it’ll be coming to me or to the Access Point. Anyone has experience with that?

Is there a good way to trigger a bunch of (useless) UPS packages to earn this?

don’t know how to get the membership upgrade and gift cards… have already picked up my 2nd package yesterday… nothing happened to my membership

John

Anyone get their Target GC or premium membership? All DPs are that nobody is getting it, which wouldn’t surprise me given that it’s UPS we’re talking about.

okay, found this one: “All credits will be made available in your UPS My Choice Deals website account (available through
https://upsmychoicedeals.com/) after the conclusion of the Offer Period, on or about approximately January 27, 2020. ”
now, we just need to wait…
