Update 10/11/20: Sale is now live. Dans Deals has a list of sample deals, share any you find interesting in the comments below.
Original post: Walmart will run a sale event called ‘Big Save’ to compete with Amazon Prime Day. Big Save will run from October 11 until October 15, whereas Prime Day runs October 13 & 14. Walmart launched the same sale last year, but there were no noticeable special deals. Target will also be offering ‘Deal Days‘.
100% useless sale because I live in Hawaii.
I’d take that trade-off!
No you wouldnt. Expensive as heck to live here and the lock downs since March are dictatorship like
I would still take it.
Find something else to complain about other than the lockdown. It’s no different in the 49 states.
Agree about the expensive as heck statement. But that is the price to pay to sip pineapple cocktails, exotic flower gardens, volcanoes, pristine beaches, blue waters, coral reefs and turtles and manta rays.
Walmart’s customer service, and entire online/delivery system for that matter, is hot garbage. I run into some sort of problem 75% of the time and it’s always a pain to get fixed.
I go to the in person stores but refuse to order from them online anymore.
Walmart – Best consistent low prices. Rude employees.
Target – Nice employees. Overpriced. RedCard RedCard RedCard coupon.
Amazon – Best online retailer. Must find the deal. Confused chat CSRs.
Amzn =worst for any type of food delivery. During pandemic I tried to order canned/packaged goods from Amzn. Check out their prices for can tuna/cookies/cranberry sauce/canned fruit. etc.. Worst. tuna is 4.00 can for bumble bee. Like that with everything. Using 3rd party sellers for 99% of stuff. Now WM has reg great prices and Shoprite has the same circular prices for delivery too!. The bumble bee tuna and chicken of the sea was 1.25 and .99 the past 2 weeks up to 16 cans. 16 cans at .99 for tuna in water and .99 up to 16 for tuna in oil solid white. Amzn does not come close!! I will never use Amzn for anything. ripoff. folks who cant/wont go to stores due to virus are screwed by MZN.But how many f ‘in TV’s does one need?
Amazon fresh actually has a lot of options, and so does whole foods. You were most likely looking at 3rd party sellers. That said I use those along with Walmart as there are some things only Walmart has.
You can actually report price gouging 3rd party sellers on Amazon (direct from the product page) and they do seem to take down the listing and disable accounts from what I’ve observed.
Not sure I will specifically make a purchase here, because I favor Amazon customer service and don’t experience, but wow I love this competition!
I’ve been a Prime member for most of the last 15 years. They used to have good customer service. Now though you’ll get ping-ponged between outsourced, untrained goons. Bottom line, they all outsource and they’re all crap and it’s because it’s a race to the bottom and they need to cut costs somewhere.
Until society starts not buying from the lowest priced seller, it’ll always be a race to the bottom…
That’s a great thought on a deal website where everyone is trying the damnest to squeeze the last possible buck by means fair and foul! 😂
See but it’s a self destructive loop. If you aren’t well paid, you HAVE to buy from the lowest price seller to have a decent quality of life. And the reason you aren’t well paid is because the corps are racing to the bottom to sell to people who are underpaid.
Hey
anthonyjh21 welcome back, where’s your walmart+ ad this time?
So stating I’m a Prime member for most of 15 years while saying they’re all crap service is advertising Walmart+ ? C’mon now, you can do better than that.
It gives me great pleasure you read everything we write. Do you like my corny jokes?
I found they are very happy to give promotional credits tho
Can second this. I’ve had to chat to the online chat several times these past few months. Majority of the chats are with people sourced from India (based on their names) and if there is an escalation needed, goes to an english name.
Not about the language or ethnicity but clearly they’re cutting costs and it’s harder to interact with the non-native english speakers because they don’t tend to understand the issue because they just follow the chain of command/prompts they are told to tell
I have to agree that Amazon customer service has gone downhill within the past year. They miss their delivery windows about 25-50% of the time and all complaints get, at most a $5 gift card. No matter how badly they messed up or whatever the consequences. No real attempts to make things right. I feel as though they have rested on their laurels and just do not care anymore.
Those $5 coupons have kept me full of happy belly hot salsa for months
What do you mean “real attempts to make things right”. The CS person has no control over a delivery company missing the delivery window. Yes it sucks but I don’t know what you mean by real attempts. All they can do is note it and offer compensation. $5-$10 (which is what I have received) seems fair. Where you expecting a free product? Lol. Amazon probably has some sort of internal target for their delivery partners. Its probably 90%. That still leaves millions of packages not delivered on time. Most times its a minor inconvenience for me. The very definition of first world problems
