Walmart Offers Free Pickups at FedEx Office Locations

Walmart offers free pickup from FedEx Office locations, similar to the way you can get free pickup from Walmart stores. This is a great additional option for those who don’t like receiving home shipments, and also helps save on shipping for orders with a shipping fee.

Not sure exactly when this option started, should be useful for those with nearby FedEx locations. Eligible FedEx Office locations will show up within the Walmart checkout system; not all FedEx locations are eligible (not all are FedEx Office).

I don’t get it. Walmart now offers next-day-delivery, so a FedEx pickup could take longer.

Also, they already offer 2-day-delivery in the areas that don’t get next-day-delivery. Anyway, it would take just as long to deliver to FedEx as to deliver to a nearby residence; plus you’re spending money on gas on a delivery – for no reason.

If it’s going to be delivered, why not just deliver it to yourself?

This seems like it would only be good for scammers, or the extremely paranoid.

As long as Walmart isn’t trying to get into my garage, I don’t see what the fuss is all about.

“If it’s going to be delivered, why not just deliver it to yourself?”

Some people live in areas with a lot of porch-theft, or they have to get deliveries at an apartment office that’s closed by the time they’re home from work (and not allowed to have stuff delivered *at* work), or they want to keep something a surprise from another family member who might get to the package first if delivered at home.

I’m sure most people will continue using home delivery, but there are some who will appreciate this. Same reasons Amazon is adding thousands of ‘Amazon Lockers’ around the country.

Doesn’t Walgreens already offer this service with FedEx? Plus they’re on every corner and a lot easier to navigate than Walmart.

Does Walgreens sell millions of items on their website?

You are misunderstanding him.

Walgreens offers free FedEx dropoff and pickup so I think Jack is thinking that we could pick up at a Walgreens. The thought process is that if the package is being sent FedEx anyway so we could pick up at at FedEx location we could just as easily pick up from Walgreens.

The question with this Walmart + FedEx is whether the package is always sent FedEx or not.

Don’t think I am. Read the second part of his statement.

Sometimes the price online is cheaper than in store, especially with fitness equipment. So it’s worth buying at website depending on what you’re purchasing.

This is super smart by Walmart, and works extremely well for anyone who’s out of town and want to purchase without fear of their packages being stolen.

Well this is great news for me! My Walmarts are further away than I would care to drive which means i often miss out on some deals but Fedex pickup works just fine for me

It’s free shipping to home anyway if you order $35+. It is definitely a high threshold and I find myself ordering more than I should. This should help with that.

If you are ordering something expensive and will be passing through a state with a lower sales tax rate or no sales tax, you can have it shipped to the fedex over there and save on sales tax.

Interesting. WalMart is rapidly innovating on what they are doing business especially their jet acquisition.
